What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is lush green and is beautiful and a lot of facilities are provided in the college itself.
- There campus life in general is pretty good, and chill, and since the campus is in a very good area of Jaipur, so it enhances the experience in general.
Dislikes
- There's this thing of in-timings for girls and that is not the case for boys so, I'd say that they should either put this restriction on both or none or at least increase the in-timings up until 12 am but I understand the concerns with that so.....
- The curriculum atleast in the first year is very laden with subjects and we have 8 subjects and 5 labs so we have to put in a lot of hours per week in the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, I always had a genuine inclination to electronics and the course also teaches you a lot of computer science topics that can help you enhance your projects and also giving you more career prospects. Well, the curriculum is basically pretty standard for Amy college curriculum but there are a lot of labs that can help you get a better understanding of the real world applications of the things that you are studying. Well, as fir improvements, the class size is generally pretty large and the amount of hours a week that we need to put in is a lot especially in the first year. So, reducing the weekly hours and making the batch size smaller will significantly improve the course a lot. The exams are pretty standard for a college level exam, generally of medium difficulty. There are two set of examinations per semester, while there also being regular quizzes but that varies from subject to subject.
Internships Opportunities
Again, there is compulsory internships in the third year and they are usually converted into PPOs, and the stipend usually ranges from 50k to 1l, but again me still being in first year can't speak about this in-depth as I haven't yet experienced this myself.
Placement Experience
The placements are generally considered good, at least in terms of Return of Investment. As for the campus placements, usually everyone has to do a compulsory internship and most of them are converted into pre-placement offers. As for the placement statistics of the current year, they are not out yet, so I can't comment on that and the general placement percentage is above 90% generally. I mostly will not sit for placements after completion of my degree and try to figure something out by then, as in that's the plan right now, but who knows if I might actually change my mind and sit for placements. Also, the highest placement usually is about 60 lakhs+ with it increasing every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
I've not heard of any fee increase policy as of now, and I don't think there is a provision of fee hike. The complete cost of education comes down to about 10 lakhs for the complete 4 year course. The tuition fees being 62500 per semester. And then there being other academic fees and hostel fees too. Well, there are many scholarships, most of which are government based and are generally for students from economically weaker families . As for campus employment opportunities, me still being in first year have not undertaken any job opportunities, but there is a provision of compulsory summer internship in the third year of the course.
Campus Life
We have an annual techno-management fest called Sphinx and an annula cultural fest called Blitzschlag. Blitzschlag usually takes place in February while Sphinx took place in November. The library has a huge collection of books which cover all your course-related academic needs. There are a lot of journals too, and you also have access to an even wider range of ebooks and e-journals. All classrooms are generally temperature controlled. All classes have very good ventilation and are equipped with blackboards as well as projectors. The college has a lot of infrastructure for sports with all the hostels having some sort of sports facilities. And then there is the sports complex which has facilities for tennis, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, cricket, and many more. The college also had a lot of clubs with the basic clubs like Dramatics Club, Dance Club, Music Club, Quiz Club, Language Clubs, Creative Arts Club, and technical clubs like the TCH, aeromodelling club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The room usually has a 24 hour power supply. All rooms have lights and fans. We also get high-speed internet in all the rooms. Also, the hostel has geezer facilities and also common rooms which have indoor sports and also TV rooms. The meal quality is decent and well it depends on which hostel you're staying in/get allotted. You have to apply for hostel before the start of the semester although you can sometimes apply mid-semester too. Everyone from outside Jaipur usually get accomodation in hostels. And even for the locals, unless you live in very close proximity of the college.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is clearing the JEE Main examination, and then you have to sit in the JOSAA counselling where you have to be among the top scorers in you category who applies for the course. The application form can be found on jeemain.nta.nic.in. The application form costs RS.1000. The exam is usually conducted twice a year, once in January and once in April. So, the application usually starts a month or two before the actual exam. The difficulty level hi pretty high considering that only 10% of the total candidates get selected/are above the cutoff. I would say that that the admission process can be improved by making the actual paying the fees part more seamless, because you have to pay a part of the fees to JOSAA first and then another part of the fees to the college, so it's a hassle in general.
