NIFT DIARIES

The college management both at the head quarters are equally well organized and capable.

Because getting admitted to NIFT was a dream from childhood. NIFT Bhubaneswar was chosen by me just because that was one of the best NIFT centers of my curriculum and also the place Bhubaneswar stands nearby to my hometown which makes it easy for me to access home and college both.

The overall course structure is evenly distributed keeping in mind the capability of various kinds of students that take admission. The first year of academics is an general overall course where students of all the departments study almost the exact same courses and subjects for and general overall knowledge. After that from the 2nd year the students are allotted to their respective chosen departments for specialized studies. From 2nd year on proper training and subjects pertaining to the specialization is taught. Expert lectures are also held for better knowledge. Specialized people from the industry are also called to teach how exactly the industry works. From 3rd year on the curriculum demands the students to go out and do internships in various companies so that the industrial knowledge gets better understanding. The 4th year is divided in two halves in which the first half is spent in college learning the crucial subjects and the rest half in spent in Graduation projects.

College demands the students to go on to minimum three internships before they graduate. College helps in getting the internships but college itself doesn't provide and internship. One internship happens at the end of 2nd year just before 3rd year starts which spans for 15 days. The next internship happens at the end of 3rd year before 4th year begins and this internship spans from a duration of 8-14 weeks depending on the department you are in. Finally the Graduation project happens which is for 5 months and is very similar to internships but with a separate project for each student.

The placement and job opportunities after graduating from our college is really good. Most of the students gets a pre-placement offer during their internship period itself. The rest gets placed during the placement season. The packages that the students gets offered with is also quiet good and praiseworthy. Our college holds a 90% placement guarantee.

The event list in our college starts with Independence day, Teacher's day, Freshers', Ganesh Chaturthi, Garba Night, Diwali, Farewell, College fest, Holi, Lohri, Graduation ceremony. In between all these major events, takes place various college event which are of all sorts, cultural, literary, social and sports too.

The fee structure is quiet feasible for everybody and also there are scholarship programs for students too. the fees are taken in yearly format except for the semester tuition fees which are taken in two halves as per the semester. also comes in the hostel fees are also taken in yearly manner.

There are quiet a few scholarship and loan facility both available for students of our college but I haven't availed any in my entire course.

The campus life at every campus is quiet lively and energetic. There's crowd available at any time of the day in the college campus. The students are all very enthusiastic and keep organizing events throughout the year. The gender ratio at our college is 2:1 which is girls:boys, but everybody is equally friendly and ever helpful. The college campus is immensely diversified. There's students from every corner of India. The extracurricular activities, Labs, Sports and competition are all in very lively manner.

The hostel facilities provided are really good and way too comfortable. There are campuses which in particular has ac hostels too. Though there ain't hostel facility for boys, but girls have real good hostel facilities. Also, the mess food differs from region to region but overall its quiet tasty and hygienic.

All the alumni and senior students are extremely helpful. Every campus has their own alumni organization.

The exams are evenly distributed through out the academic year. The academic year is divided into two semesters. The odd number semesters has its end semester exam at the end of November and spanning till the start of December with a mid-terminal exam at the time of mid September or starting of October. The even number semesters has its end semester exam at the end of April and spanning till the start of May with a mid-terminal exam at the time of mid February or starting of March.

Step 1- All India entrance exam of NIFT was given Step 2- Results came out Step 3- All India rank was allotted according to the marks obtained Step 4- Was then called for counselling sessions conducted at any of the NIFT centers that was easily accessible for me Step 5- Rank wise all India counselling was conducted online Step 6- Rank wise seat allotment at different campuses took place Step 7- Admission procedure took place after having deposited the admission fees.

The faculties of are college are all highly educated and capable of teaching the particular subjects. Most of the faculties are graduates form our very own institute. while a few others guest faculties are also made available at our college for expert advises.
