Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly, the cirruculum and the examination standards in SRM university is good. Their pattern of examinations which include 60% internals and 40% Semester examinations were good. The teaching faculty could be better but overall its good. The frequency of exams is high because they conduct exams every month to split up the internal marks, making the students score easily and even if they can't, they could improve in the nexf one.
Placement Experience
I have heard that the placements are good in this university, considering the amount of students they intake per year, as there is a very large crowd, which leads to a lot of competition to struggle and get a placement ( I am talking about good placement in a good company). Ihave heard that over 300 companies visit SRM every year and almost 90% above are placed in good companies with average package of 6+ LPA. The highest package offered was 1Cr which was few years ago. This university also gives many opportunities for students to study outside the country after their completion of getting Degree as it has collaborated with many Univeristies outisde India. Myplans after getting the degree is to pursue my studies by opting for Masters in USA and get placed in a good company.
Fees and Financial Aid
I guess the fee structure is a bit higher, considering the amount of intake this university has per year. For my course Cse-Aiml, it makes around 4.5L per year which is very high compared to other colleges for this course. They could reduce the fee amount which could be better for all the types of students who would want to join this univeristy
Campus Life
The campus life is very good, SRM has a very large campus which has many buildings and departments including Architecture, Computer Science, Medical, Bio Engineering and etc. And it also has a very big library which is very helpful to all the students who are studying over here. This university also offers wide variety of extracurricular activities and clubs in which students can interact with others and find new people, learn new concepts, and improve their skills. The facilities are okay, considering the amount of fee they take from students per year.
Hostel Facilities
From my personal experience, The hostel facilities are bad. They charge you over 2 lakhs per year to get an AC hostel room, which is very bad in looks and facilities. They also have an average type of mess which I felt had limited kind of varieites available. I opted for AC hostel room with 3 sharing which costed me 2.25L per year including Mess fee, Hostel and all.
Admission
The admission process is not much complex, as there was an entrance exam called SRMJEEE in which students had to apply and write the exam. They will be given ranks after evaluation by which the courses can be selected. The eligibility of the course which I have choosen is to pass 12th Grade with 60% of marks in PCM. We can find the application form in their official website of SRMist. There are no reservations as it is a deemed to be University. The exam is for 3hrs and it is not much difficult as it covered most of the 11th and 12th syllabus.
