Department of biotechnology: KWC sangli

I choose biotechnology as specialization during my BSc because in 11th I understood that I wanted to do my further studies in medical field so I started to get all other courses in medical field other that MBBS that's when I get to know about biotechnology which I think is most important branch which will result lots of success in medical field that's why I choose this cource. Currently we have class strength of 47 student and 4 teaching staff 3 lab assistant and our HOD guides us about everything. Some of faculty members had completed there MSC and pursuing there PhD while some of our teachers had already completed there PhD and have lot of experience. Generally teachers are more focused on our practicals rather than theory lecture which help us to understand concepts better as we all perform practicals.around once a week MCQ exams are taken in which questions were mostly asked as per competative exam pattern and in addition due to negative marking it was difficult to pass test.

For each year of our course approximately 30000 rupees is fees in addition to this 1000 exam fees around 200 practical exam fees and 300 to 400 lab breakage. All students were told to apply for chatrapati rajarshe shahu maharaj scholarship. In this scholarship we get 22000 academic fees and 1000 exam fees.But it was not beneficial for me as under this scholarship they first preference other cast first and then open cast.But I got 100% scholarship from our Latthe education society on basis of marit list as well as due to my sports certificate which helped me a lot. I also got 1000 /month stiped from University. I was in merit list of our Shivaji University also work in our college library for 6 months under earn and learn scheme as my financial condition is not so good for 2 hours daily I got 1000 stiped.

We have a program called Helix in month of January in which we invites all college under our university. That time we mainly concentrate on new technology which are developed in recent years. One of alumine of our college who achieved something in that year are invited as guests lecturer they guide us new technology, research which are going on in industries it help us to understand how things works in industries. We then have poster competition rangoli compitition paper presentation related to our subject. Helix every year help us to gain knowledge from every student and teacher from different colleges.we have saperate library of our department where every book is available.our classroom lab have all equipment needed for practice which help us to improve skills. College support for sports as well as study related competition. We have created microbiology society of India in which all students from biotechnology and microbiology are connected and share there experience to everyone

For my UG when I went to Kwc college sangli they told us minimum requirements for admission was to pass 12th with first class which I did. There was no entrance exam result required for admission as it was pendamic period. But as I was sports Pearson and got 387 marks in NEET. In our first meet with head of department he said that I can take admission in this college.For that he explained how I have to first register to our university officials website then fill a form for new admission also have to fill form on official website of our college. While applying for new admission we needed to pay 50 rupees for code which was needed to fill form.As I was from open cast I was not able to get any reservation benifits.I faced lots of difficulty while applying admission form as website server was down most of time so I will request if they can please make sure that website work properly so that no one will face difficulty while applying for admission form.
