Navigating trade-offs :Realities of my college journey at MMMUT .

The most sought after courses are computer science and engineering , information technology and electronic and communications engineering . I went for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering , because of personal interest in the field . Faculty to student ration is 1:45 , but with not so well qualified and learned faculty . There happens a total of 3 exams in each semester , 2 Minor exams and and a Major exam(equivalent to end semester exams ) . Each Minor exam tests for half the number of units in each respective course . Exams are moderatively difficult to pass , as there is robust sytem of review of answer sheets of students .

From 7th semester onwards , students can sit in placements for companies which have visited . Only a handful of good companies visite the college . Companies like Amazon , Scaler , Microsoft etc have visited the college in the past . The highest on campus package was on 45 LPA, and the average package is a little over 7 LPA. Most roles offered are SDE , System engineers , Field engineers etc . Of all the students , 60 percent of students get placed on campus. Most of non-placed students go for higher studies like MBA , M.Tech etc . Some students also prepare for Civil services examinations , with good results from the students of the institute .

The total tuition fees is a little over Rs.90,000 each year . For hostelers , the hostel fees is Rs.20.000 for each semester , while the mess fees is a little over Rs.15,000 , with minor changes according to inflation and number of days mess was not serving food .

The annual cultural fest is called Abhyudaya . Abhyudaya , signifying the sunrise , is the annual art , literary and cultural fest of Madan Mohan Malviya university of Technology . It is held around the months of May-June . The annual tech fest is called TechSrijan , is help annually in the months of May-August . Classes are equiped with facilities like Smart boards , projectors and Screens etc , but they are rarely used . Sports and extra-curricular scene in the institute is very active , with events happening all around the year with active and enthusiastic participation from students . The central libary is well equiped with up-to-date books and facilities , with a serene environment for studying .

The rooms provided in the hostels are bare-bones , but considering such affordable cost of hostel rooms per semester , they are nothing to be complained about . Basic facilities like Fans , Almirahs etc have been provided , although , the college has been allotting rooms to too many people per a room to live together in a single room , owing to the fact that number of students and intake has been increased but the hostel infrastructure has not been updated and built accordingly . It becomes too cramped when 4 people are given a room designated for only 3 people , with 3 seperate almirahs . Keeping personel electronic items like table fans , electric kettles , blowers etc is advised . Meal quality and the variety of food in the mess is sub-par, even non-edible sometimes , as the working mess staff and cooks are poorly trained . Registration for the hostel facilities can be opted during admission process itself .

Admission in B.Tech courses is based on JEE Main scores . The application form , and all the relevant details about the applocation process can be found on the official website of the university . Counselling is done seperately for home state and Other state student applicants .
