Course Curriculum Overview

Some teachers are good whereas you can't understand accent of others. Overall if u understand the concepts then the paper is quite easy. There are 8 semester and 2 term papers each semester. If you don't u derstand then a lot of students reply on nptel.

Internships Opportunities

Various internship opportunities are available in campus and off campus. Summer internship last around 3 months. Almost everyone who is working hard gets an opportunity for internship. I don't know much about it though.

Placement Experience

The placements are quite good compared to other colleges as a lot of companies offer placements. The highest package is over 1 Cr and average is around 10-20 lpa. Over 200 students get placed on campus through core as well as non core branches.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

They take 1 lakh per semester as tution fees and other charges are for hall(hostel) and extra activities. I have not availed a scholarship. But there are a lot of available scholarships that you can apply for.

Campus Life

Spring fest and kshitij are the main fests conducted in IIT KHARAGPUR. They take place in January. The Campus life is considered the best in IITs. You have a lot of clubs u can join and workshops and events take place every now and then.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is average . The food is not that good but you have a lot of restaurants in campus where you can eat . There is no curfew for hostel. Hostel holds parties often along with DJ's on festivals.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

Required to pass JEE MAINS and ADVANCED to receive admission in this college . Then select your preference of course and college through JOSAA. You will be allotted according to your rank. For advanced the cutoff was around 4000 rank for general female quota.

Good- Engineering College Review

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem.tcs,infosys,ctz. The highest package is 7 lakh. Avg is 4 lakh. 80 to 90 percent. Do a job in its company. This is my opinion in placement review. TPO cell is good. and give facilities to the student.

Campus Placements of students used to happen but because of the pandemic we are here giving offline placements and preparing from online classes. As far as I know, 50% of my classmates have got placed at different companies with a good package. One of the students got placed at Glassgow Scotland with a package of around 30LPA. The average percentage required to get placed in any company is like 60-70%. I am preparing for Govt job exams and also for different IT companies. All you need is hard work, self-study, and consistent effort so that you can fulfill the company's requirements.

Remarks:

The course I have opted for has one of the best faculties in this college over West Bengal. We have 2 Ieee student society in this college in which students can easily be part of and enhance their skills. The placement cell of our college is highly reputed as they always bring in the best companies for campussing. (Including core companies). We have excellent lab facilities where we can work upon our projects. From this college numerous students have participated in hackathons( including national levels) and bagged prestigious positions. We have an MHRD facilitated research lab.

Remarks:

I chose IIT KGP above all the institutes due to its academic reputation and curriculum. i was getting confirmed admission in DTU CSE .
