All you need to know about MNIT Jaipur

I chose mechanical engineering due to my interest in working with designing software like CAED and 3-D design software. The course curriculum is pretty great and ensures a thorough learning environment with proper practical experience with subjects like automobile and machine workshops. The faculty-to-student ratio is quite normal with up to 100 students in a batch which are further divided into smaller batches for practicals. Faculty teaching here is highly qualified with everyone holding PhD degrees. A few faculties are much aged and lack the enthusiasm as well as energy to teach a large batch of students. Due to the pandemic, term exams were conducted almost every 1.5 months and are of moderate to difficult level but students can easily pass them with a well planned study

Companies that visit our college for internship opportunities are Goldmann Sachs (and others for Banking and finance roles) with a stipened of around 80000. In core sector, Jinda steel, Whirlpool, Bajaj Auto etc with average stipened of 20000. For non core sectors many companies recruit interns like cisco, google, amazon, Microsoft etc

Campus placements are excellent for some non core branches and average for the rest core branches. Usually companies for come for internship selection from 5th semester onwards while placement season usually starts from 7th semester onwards. In the mechanical branch, few core companies with not-so-attractive packages come and few non core companies as well. Namely MNCs like BPCL, HPCL and other companies like Deutsche bank, Unacademy and other such companies have come for placements. Around 90-95 % students get placed all over and this percentage is obviously higher in circuital branches. Personally, I will be sitting for placements and will target the non core companies during campus placements

The fee structure is good compared to other colleges and in case of reservation, a fee waiver is offered. Generally the academic fees here is around 1.5 lakhs every year which includes tuition fees, laboratory, students activity fees, examination fees and all other such expenses. Hostel fees is around 33000 per semester which includes mess as well.

MNIT has one of the best campuses in all of the NITs and is even better than many IITs. Blitzschlag is the annual cultural fest that is conducted in the month of February while Sphinx is the annual Technical fest conducted in October every year. Both of these fests provide great exposure to students and everyone in the campus enjoys it. College library is average as not many books are available here. The college supports all the sports events and has its own team for all major sports like volleyball, basketball, cricket etc. Even dance groups that run mainly by college students is present.

Hostels provided are average with triple sharing in the first year and single rooms from second year onwards. Facilities provided are general study table, chair, and a bed. Rooms are pretty spacious. Washrooms are average but are cleaned on daily basis. Mess food is bad here. Menu is typical vegetable, roti, dal, rice with some sweet dish or ice cream. Food taste is not so good. Hostel facility can be easily availed and are quite affordable as compared to renting an outside PG.

A general overview of the admission process includes: 1) Eligibility - Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. 2) Admission is typically based on the performance in national-level entrance exams such as JEE Mains and based on the scores they may qualify for admission. 3) Application form for the exam can be found online once notification is released by the body conducting the exam. The form is usually released about a two months prior to the scheduled exam date.
