Likes

- College-life, obviously the best part, but ugh...I missed my two precious years to COVID.
- Some really helpful Faculties. You definitely will find the rude ones as well, but yea, this be the scene in every college all around the globe.
Dislikes
- The number of exams held per semester plus the number of assignments and class tests, you sometimes may get frustrated.
- Fees grows exponentially, but this is the scene in all private colleges, so can't stand them culprits.
Course Curriculum Overview
I already made up my mind to enroll for CSE because of my interest and higher rates of placement opportunities. You will get 1 faculty advisor per 60 students so you can reach out to them anytime for any issues throughout you college life. Faculties are well qualified holds many research papers of their own and many contacts that may help you as well. They also be a member in some student clubs where you can participate based on your interest. One issue you will have is the exams. There are 4-5 exams per semester! But yea, you will gain from that eventually...so beneficial.
Internships Opportunities
You are going to get many summer internship opprotunities for renowned companies like Optum, Accenture, Amazon and hell lot of Startups. Stipends vary based on the companies and the roles they offer like Software development, Front-end development, backend development, Android development, Data Analyst, Data scientist and so on(I primarily have the knowledge about my field so apologies). You will get to work on projects in many college clubs as well, giving you the exposure you need before working in a real corporate firm.
Placement Experience
You can do your summer internships from 3rd Year onwards for which you shall be gettibg ODs(allowance of leaving the classes), but only upon submitting proper proof and getting it sanctioned by the HOD. Talking about my placement session, actually it got a bit messed up due to recession going on and some ONLY WOMEN hiring through some high-offering Super-Dream and Marqee companies. But overall, everyone got a chance to atleast sit in 3-4 placements based upon your interest. Luckily I got an offer in 3rd year itself which went well till my last semester..later I got an Off-campus offer and decided to go for it.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I took admission in 2k19, I got a waiver in my couse fees of 1LPA. Other students who scored well got even more waivers. Yearly scholarships are also there based on how you excell in academics. Talking about internships, I got one from college in my 3rd year. Also there were many opportunities of placements, which got a bit depressing and competitive due to recession, COVID and ONLY WOMEN hiring (for some renowned Companies) issues.
Campus Life
You are gonna enjoy your college life. There are fests namely AARUSH and MILAN. Also there are many food courts and nearby restaurants inside and outside the campus. There is a well stacked Library available you can take advantage of. Classrooms were well equipped with all the amneties for you seamless sessions and effective learning. For sports(all sorts) you will get equipments and dedicated grounds. For students welfare and assistance there is the social group cum club named DSA(Directorate of students Affairs). In-campus safety is assured.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms were spacious and cleaned regularly. Mustiple Mess were available for different hostel buildings. Variety of north and south menu was available all the 3 times of the day plus supper in the evening. Hostel registration held every year for room booking which gets avaibale on their own website portal.
Admission
Okay so I applied for SRMIST online on their website. They hold a separate exam for admission named SRMJEE. If you score really well and get a rank under 10k, you have higher chances to get your desired course (CSE I'm guessing). The application for is available at the time when you apply for other competitive exams like JEE mains (NTA holds currently). There are some reservation bebefits only if you excelled in some sports, hold a renowned position in state or national level. Also, If you excelled in JEE Mains, you get a waiver based upon your rank. The admission process was really smooth, but you will have to pay an amount for seat registration that won't be refundable if you choose to opt for some other college.
Other Applied Colleges
Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
The Placements of some seniors I knew really went well. The college infrastructure is also excellent. Also, I got the 1st day counselling to opt the course I desired.
