SRM- A detailed review

The course curriculum was designed on the international pattern seeing the demand of the industry. As we know todays industry require a well qualified and equally balanced person so that they can be benifited from his/her knowledge. I did bachelor degree in civil engineering from srm as my whole family is a civil engineer and I also wanted to become like them. Also the faculty here was very well qualified so I thought it will become easy for me to persue this course. The faculty is to student ratio was 1:60 and the overall teaching experience was very great as all the faculty members were either done masters in their degree or even are phd holders. The exams were organised very timely and it was not that difficult to pass if the student has studied throughout.

The internship opportunities was given to the students in their 7th semester with a stipend of 12-15 thousand. The companies who offered internship was tcs, wipro, barcalys majorly it companies. The project was prepared by me was in 8th sem and the review was done. After that the doubts was cleared.

As Srm guarantee 100% placement so I got placed in a MNC with a package of 4.5 lakhs. The placement cycle starts from 7th semester of our degree and goes till the course is over. To enroll in the placement cycle we need to fill a fees of Rs6000 to sit for placements. There were many companies which visited our campus like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, L&T, cognizant and many more. Around 10k or more than that offera were made and the students accepted the offer. The highest package of our placement was 1 cr in amazon in operations profile and the least package was 3.5 lakhs in sales profile. Around 90% students were placed. After getting the degree i started working in a reputed firm.

As I have done btech in civil engineering so the tytion fees for me was 2.5 lakhs per year and there was no fees hike policy in my course. The cost to study in this collage is around 4.5 lakhs per year after adding hostel fees and mess fees plus the student personal expenses. The student who are good in studies get scholarship based on their merit. There is a 100% placement policy of SRM. I was placed in a IT MNC with an average package of 4.5 lakhs p.a.

The campus life in Srm is best according to me because there are not much restrictions. The social life at the campus is very great because there are so many students from different states with different cultures. The collafe organises 2 fest per year and the name of the first fest is Milan which is organised in the month of march every year and also it is the 3rd largest fest in india. The 2nd fest is Aaruush which is a national level techno management fest organised in the month of August. At srm we have a 3 floor centeral library with around 40k-50k books in all feilds. The classroom was smart class with internet access to all students. There were many clubs for students who are interested in different activities.

The hostel facility given to the students were like based on the type of hostel and the fees paid. There were 2 and 3 sharing rooms with basic things like bed fan and wardrobe. The mess food quality was good as we had both south and north indian mess the menu overall was good. To register for hostel we need to login to their hostel booking site and select the hostel name and the type of room then pay the fees and the room will get booked. The affordability for hostel is okay for a middle class family.

The overall admission process was cery smooth and easy. The eligibility criteria for applying to the collage was that the student must have atleast 60% in his 10th and 12th standard. After that he can fill a form to by the name of SRMJEE. The fees for the application was around 1000-1500 and the forms comes in the month of march or april. The application form is easily available at the official site of SRM collage from where the applicant can fill the form. As I am from general category so i did not have any benefits from reserved category. According to me the admission process is very smooth and easy.
