Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in communication. So, I chose a course related to - Advertising and Communication. The faculties were mostly from the industry itself from diverse backgrounds and doing well in their career. During my study there; I have seen, met, and taught by more than 15+ faculties. They even hired experts and they conducted 4 days workshop. That was good. Got to earn many things during that time alone. I cannot comment related to the qualification of the faculties but I know many of them were working professionals. We had a lot of subjects and they were related to the industry. If you understand the industry then you can pass exams well.
Internships Opportunities
I directly went to RK SWAMY BBDO in PUSA ROAD, Delhi, and met the General Manager. I gave my small interview and got selected for the internship. During my first internship, I worked on projects related to Govt. agencies like NACO, RNTCP, DELHI Govt. and UNICEF.
Placement Experience
Final-year students were the first ones to apply for campus placements. But, as per the rule, only students who passed their respective courses can apply for campus placement. In my case, I didn't wait for campus placement and took the help of one of my seniors and faculty to land - an internship. So, I was among the first batch of students who left the hostel and started living life outside the hostel after earning an internship.
Fees and Financial Aid
As per my knowledge, my parents paid above Rs. 3,00,000 to 3,50,000 for an 18-month course. At that time it was the normal cost of studying in any privately owned institutions. But, as per the current scenario course fee is too high. I heard that to study there - now students have to pay more than Rs. 8 lakh. I didn't get any scholarship or financial assistance but I went to RK SWAMY BBDO in Pusa Road on the advice of my Professor and faculty Mr. Pati Sir. Once I reached RK SWAMY BBDO, I met with Raviananth Krishnan and I was selected for an internship with a minimum stipend. I decided to do it as it is not easy to get a chance to job at any advertising agency without any backup or connections.
Campus Life
During our days; we haven't been provided with internet or laptop. Desktops were available but only inside computer labs. We used to organize many cultural events. Once we joined we had a freshers event. We used to celebrate almost every festival inside the campus like Durga Puja, Christmas, Holi etc. We also celebrated - the Annual Sports Meet; where I won four medals; 3 gold and one silver. There are more than 2000 books. A library card was issued for this purpose. We even went to Hyderabad and Chennai for an industrial tour and learned many aspects related to time management and cooperation.
Hostel Facilities
During our days - in one room three students were given options to stay. Students were selected and organized in such a way that - no one belongs to the same state or area. So, we all can learn to stay with others. The room condition and bed condition were very good. Regarding food - they used to provide veg and non-veg items. Food was always good and no comment is required about this. In our hostel - there were staff members and they were polite and good. I stayed inside the institute's hostel for 16 months. They even hired barbers and other service providers.
Admission
I reached this institute after I took MAT (Management Aptitude Test) in Rajkot (Gujarat). Once, I reached this institute we went through the following steps: Step 1) Interaction with admission staff Step 2) Written test related to GK, English Step 3) Oral interview with admission staff Step 4) Those who were selected were informed Regarding overall eligibility - we only had to pass a bachelor's degree. Regarding the application form, application fees, and application dates one can check the institute's website. Regarding admission improvements - the institute can showcase results of passed-out students. As many of them are working in wonderful positions in various organizations. No need to showcase entire students and batch; just limited important number of high profile students. Plus, nowadays overall total fee is too high; which they should reduce. That's it!
Interview Experience
Yes, all of them faced Group Discussions, Interviews, and written test papers. During group discussion - we were given a topic to discuss. It was related to whether you would like to work for an MNC or Govt. agencies. Once we reached campus they already had most of our details. So, we just signed some forms and we stayed inside campus from morning to late evening. They also provided refreshments to us.
