What Students Say
Likes
- Its very clean and tidy with access to all basic facilities, clean washrooms and drinking water.
- The environment around the college is also very peaceful, its a little far from the main city, so it is easy to concentrate.
- Administration is very helpful, from admission to fee payment and all other problems, the admin helps a lot.
Dislikes
- I feel more teachers are needed given the amount of students, this could ensure better engagement of all.
- More companies could be included in the placement process, some from ouside the city also could be a good opportunity.
- Actual corporate skills need to be taught more rather than just bookish knowledge, more of these skills would help in employmemt opportunites for students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose MBA as it provides relatively better opportunities than other Master degrees while offering job security in a highly commercial world. The student faculty ratio was satisfactory, around 1:80-100, which, in my opinion, could have been better as it is always difficult to study in a highly populated classroom. Most of the faculty were highly qualified with innovative teaching methods, however in certain aspects the course could have been made more engaging. Exams were conducted once every six months, totalling to 4 semesters in a span of 2 years. The exams were not very tough, but i feel the marks alloted were very generalized, I would end up getting the almost the same marks for papers that went very well and those that weren't so good.
Internships Opportunities
Internships were offered from many companies, some of these later promoted the interns to employees. Mostly companies engaged in automobile sector provided internships, like Honda motors, Maruti Suzuki, some private banks were also included. Roles offered were mostly related to marketing, especially for those who opted for marketing as a major, however the internships were not paid internships, so no stipend was present. The teachers made sure that all students are provided internships, no specific tasks were required to be completed(they were necessary for placments) Overall, all students got the opportunity of doing an internship.
Placement Experience
As soon as the 2nd year starts, students are eligible for placements and internships. The college does recommend a lot of companies where one can start their career. Around 25-30 companies visit the campus, Honda Motors, Maruti Suzuki, TCS, Mahindra, to name a few. Since it is a management college, most profiles offered by companies are based on management roles, generally administration. The average package is somewhere around 300000-400000 per annum, highest would have reached approximately 600000. Mostly all of the students do get placed, but it also depends on the active participation of the student.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is affordable, not as high as most managment colleges where you would pay 15-20 lakhs for the course. My tution fee was approximately 2 lakh rupees, some extra amount for uniform and caution money, etc.( around 5000) Scholarships are available for the economically weaker sections that are related to the family income of the applicant. I'm not aware of the exact amount provided by scholarship as it is different for all applicants, based on income. Placement assistance is provided by the instituition but only if your attendance is up to the mark and you engage fairly well with the faculty. The average stipend for these jobs are around 15000-20000 per month. I did not avail any scholarship, nor did I take up any campus job as I was preparing for government exams at that time.
Campus Life
Social life at the college is good, but not too enthusiastic. If someone is looking for a totally happening college life with a lot of fests and functions, this college dosen't serve the purpose. It has a mixture of academics and co-cirricular activities, with a tilt towards the former. There are some functions at different times of the year, not too grand, just average. The library is very well maintained with lots of books available and is a very peaceful place to study. Classrooms are neat and tidy with all basic amenities, digital board, lots of benches and nearby washrooms and drinking facilities with good ventilation. Overall there were various social groups and clubs, like dance, art, etc. There were also inter-college trips, various social awareness campaigns organiszed by the college in small villages, and a lot of other miscallaneous activities across the year.
Admission
The admission process was quite smooth, all steps involved in the procedure were explained clearly by the administration. Students have to appear in any national level management test like CMAT/CAT/MAT, no specific cut-off was mentioned by the college for admission, rather appearing in the exam was mandatory, and a marksheet of the same was required during admission process. I gave the CMAT exam, the process for which was similar to other management exams, i.e. registration when forms are released and then appearing for it on specified dates. The only issue, according to me, was that most of the information regarding the course was not available online and was rather made available at the institution itself, residing in the vicinity of the college, it was easy for me, but might be a hinderance for those from far away areas.
