Remarks
I think college is awesome and The good thing is college gets over at 1 pm. After that you can go out and get some real learning. The college has its own community radio. trust me you'll like it.
Entrance Preview
They have their own entrance exam which everyone can clear. There's a computer-based MCQ test first then an interview. No matter how bad you perform you'll get selected.
Course Curriculum Overview
Research-based teaching there but there's like 2-3 faculty members who are really able to practice it. The University with which the college is affiliated is all about filling more and more answer sheets, quality of writing won't get you good marks. No matter how accurate you write, if you've filled 14 sheets and someone else who has filed about 26 sheets with pe garbage your marks and his marks which is almost the same. Hence neither students nor faculty focuses on research and practical use cases.
Internships Opportunities
Not much internships but yes final year students get a lot of job opportunities. And if you get internship opportunity for outside they'll definitely allow you to miss some classes for it.
Placement Experience
Students get ample job opportunities and faculty members really push a lot to help students get hired. Average packages are about 2.4L. Job profiles are mostly sales and customer support and that's the reason why I didn't sit for interviews at college, I'm into project management, placed before completion of my graduation.
College Events
No of events are not much. Sports and cultural activities are never at the focus. College gets over at 1 pm. In the first semester, they'll say students can stay and practice cultural activities, sports with different faculty for different activities. But haven't seen anything like this happen in 3 years. Even though we stayed a few times after college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For what they're giving it's expensive. For the first sem, they'll give you books and let you keep them but from next sem, you're required to return them. Books are from very ok publishers. Content is so bad that finally students buy GyaanGanga books (question bank) and give exam on basis of these. You'll get dress once not in consecutive years but the fee will remain the same. Fine for attendance defaulters is also a good source of income for college. And being a not so special college, no. of attendance defaulters is many times more than students who are regular.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there's a special scholarship sponsored by Mr. Kapil Dev, for meritorious students. The scholarship amount is 40k and annual fee is 95k.
Campus Life
Campus life is ok, there's a small garden in front you can sit there and take sun bath :p and a small canteen with ok ok food. There's nothing much to do at campus, no ports facilities like basketball court or a football ground, nothing. Gender ratio is fair enough. Ye there's student diversity students come from Delhi NCR, UP, Bihar, Bengal, Madhya Pradesh.
Hostel Facilities
Well, I haven't been at the hostel. I don't know much about it. Fellows say rooms are air-conditioned. Hostel fees slightly expensive according to what fellow students who stay at the hostel told me. But yes there are many societies nearby and you can get room, food, cooler, TV, etc all for like 8k a month.
Alumni/Alumna
Nope. Never encountered an alumni network. There's nothing much to interact with seniors. No sports, no cultural activities hence no interaction between different batches.
Exam Structure
Chilled out. There are two internal exams. Students need to attend at least one. Labs and practical things are a rare sight at IMS. Exams are mostly theory and ratification based. If you're even slighy intelligent you just need few hours before the exam to score about 60 percentage. Ans as I mentioned above, here it's more about filling sheets instead of writing quality content.
Admission
Apply for admission, get a call for entrance test and interview. Appear for both. Entrance is mainly about aptitude and English. Test is computer based and format is MCQ. Sit for interview. Don't worry about language, interviewers are comfortable with both English and Hindi. Just be confident they won't reject you that's for sure. After this you go home and soon you'll receive a confirmation call that you're selected.
Faculty
Faculty keeps changing, almost all the skilled faculty members left in my three years of graduation and new inexperienced, not so interactive teachers have taken their place. Maybe the doesn't pay well to faculty members. But yes faculty members are very helpful and care about students.
