Remarks

Management also Surana college is not satisfactory but when it comes to teachers and principal and other faculty members I am very satisfied.

Entrance Preview

No particular exams are held to take up BA. However, they ask for regular proof of passing first and second pic.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course that I opted for the college is Jop, that is journalism optional English and Psychology which is one of the BA course and the other BA course is HTJ which is history tourism and journalism, so in general the course does not provide any research material but the teachers are very supportive of extracurricular activities including research.

Internships Opportunities

Yeah, my college is very supportive when it comes to internships for BA itself the internship starts from the first semester or in the first year only. the students can choose whatever main subjects they want to hold the internship with which is a very good opportunity. Taking care of whichever subject the student is more interested in.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements and job opportunities are very limited in BA course but the due to the internships and all that the students can pretty much find a job during their internships itself, so that is equivalent to placements or job opportunities according to me. I have heard that for the higher course of BA like MS or MA the replacement at Surana is really good.

College Events

4.5

There are so many events that are celebrated in the college mainly all the small near Indians celebrations are held, there is Gowri Pooja, paratha happening, Annual Day function, there is an NCC that is taking place every year, exhibitions always be there, there are no workshops and guest lectures happening all the time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very liberal and very feasible, affordable according to me. there is a lot of support for people who cannot afford with so many scholarships and all those events. Tuition Fee structure is about 19000 per year. Other extra activities also draft a certain amount.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus is not very huge in Surana. The gender ratio is about different in every class but particularly in Ba girls are more than boys. the cultural society in the college is very apt there are so many events happening so tolerance regards to gender and all that is very high the teachers are not very tolerant towards any discrimination

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel facilities in Surana college South End Circle the mess or the canteen food is not very appreciated, it is satisfactory but it can be better but the students who don't have hostel facilities of stay in PGS around the college which is very comfortable for them but nothing from the college side.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are not very interactive when it comes to ba but I'm sure if the student needs any help they will be helpful but I am sure with other courses that are completely different and the seniors are very interactive and helpful with juniors.

Exam Structure

BA Surana is affiliated to Bangalore University as a result of all the examinations held are according to their Bangalore University so there will be an internal assessment or internal exams and annual exams, also the course is in a semester format. Students will also be given marks for extra curricular activities and internship.

Admission

For admissions I had to fill up an admission form which is of 100-150 rupess and detailed entrance form must be filled and then the admission process began after all the documents were presented. Documents including markscard of the previous course, transfer certificate etc

Faculty

4

According to me the teachers are well trained in their subjects and are very qualified, and compared to other colleges I feel that Surana has some of the best faculty for the main subjects for the major subjects. Whereas the minor ones, it is otherwise.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I selected BA(English) course. Because I was quite good at English that's why I chose it. And I still Didn't go to college. Because our class starting date didn't announce by the college (Kittel arts college, Dharwad). That's why I have no idea about teaching staff and facilities. Of course, I hope it will be the best that I heard about this (kittel arts college, Dharwad) college. I heard only positive comments about this college.

Placement Experience:

In the final year students become eligible for placements and we have placement cell also. In 2nd year only we have attended 2-4 news channels interview and training. But due to pandemic, we didn't attend placements and all. And our seniors to didn't attend for placements because they are interested in higher education. So the percentage of placements is not clear, but for us, they prepared fully to attend any type of job interviews and also to handle all juniur of news channel and newspaper.
