Remarks

I can say that they are providing standards as required for the 2 college (based on cut off) .If they provide higher standards like internships ,placements then it will be a good place .

Entrance Preview

Normally in Tamil nadu , colleges admissions are based on higher secondary cut off marks followed by counseling which will happen on Chennai . Cut off marks is based on physics, chemistry, Maths and I got 175.25/200 . Based on this cut off and nearby locality ,I selected this college ,since from my native Tiruppur to this college takes only 2.30 hrs of journey time. Regarding the course I choose mechanical engineering because it is one of the evergreen field and IT was down at that time 2013.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Regarding course curriculum my college is an autonomous body ,so the syllabus have some relaxation as compared to Anna University which is followed throughout Tamil nadu . As usual engineering basic concepts and theories were there . There is not much focus on research .But during my final year they introduced some blooms taxonomy question paper technique which will look out for different levels of knowledge .

Internships Opportunities

No ,my college will not give internship for students but you can approach companies by your own and they can provide on-duty for you. Still there are no companies that our college had arranged , I skip this topic .

Placement Experience

2.5

When I entered the campus I was told that this college is good for computer science rather than mechanical . The same thing has happened at the end . Finally , only few core companies came and that too they recruited only in single digits . Wipro recruited mechanical students and our department given training for c,c++. They recruited around 8 people . And most of my friends got placed by their own way(off campus) . Some of small scale industries can recruit buy the Job is not worthier . Wipro is the top layer with 3.67 lakhs per annum . And some small scale companies will give you as low as 8-10k per month . And i worked hard for gate i got placed my self at Cameron separately in off campus .

College Events

3.5

This is the case where this college is lagging .Only few celebrations annual day ,founders day and sports day were celebrated. It was not grand during my time but as of now they improved a lot ,conducting in some open stages .Other than that culturals teams are there but they are not given so much priority .Overall if they spend some budget to those things it will be far good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is same as compared to most of the private colleges in tamilnadu of this range . But as compared to government colleges it is double in amount .If you are a first graduate your fee will be around Rs 1,08,000 including hostel ,rs 55,000 without hostel .Non first graduates 20,000 extra. And living cost in that place is cheap as compared to chennai , coimbatore .

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are two things ,which had been a good initiative taken by my college . One is BC scholarship which is around 7000 for hostelers and 4000 for dayscholars which in received for my entire four years, offered by state government. But in case of central sector scholarship I received for only first two years of 10,000 per year . Also there are seperate scholarships for SC/ST students ,but I know only less about those things . For loans you have to approach the banks ,provided that you can get the fee structure from your college .

Campus Life

2.5

Being a mechanical engineer you can't talk about gender ratios since there is only one girl in our mechanical engineering department . In case of sport's biggest it is one of the best place interms of cricket ,shuttle and kho-kho . Regular practise will be there and indoor stadiums were available. And students were from all over Tamil nadu were there in our college but we didn't felt any difference in caste ,race ,since we all fall under one category FRIENDS . Economic status can't be evaluated because it varies widely . My friends may range from low as well as higher economic status . Workshops were only few throughout the course where you can count in numbers .

Alumni/Alumna

Yes ,if you contact the faculty they will give your senior contacts and you can call them and ask for doubts related to jobs and their work experience as well as some tips for interviews and personally I got some details from my college seniors for job interview .

Admission

Forms for counselling will be given by some government office after your +2 course and place will be notified in newspapers and TV News . After you get that form you have to attach documents like community certificate and 10,+2 markshees ,,,etc mentioned in form . After you sending it you will be notified by postal call letter . You need not to wait in queue since for a particular cut off some timings are allotted . After you entered the counselling hall you have to show the original documents to verify and they will show the list of colleges available for your cut off and you can choose one . Also in waiting hall and website you can track how many seats available in a particular college .After that you will be given an allotment letter ,with that you can approach the college directly.

Faculty

2.5

I will not say everyone is good . There are some good faculties are there and some moderate knowledge faculties are there .During my tenure for my course I got some experienced faculties and few freshers. Some of faculties done good job to deliver the knowledge and some will treat you based on your interest .

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
