Remarks
It's overall well-managed institute with the good number of facilities. It is good to study there. It's very good college for mechanical engineering. We got to learn so many things apart from the curriculum. It's the best place to have an overall growth of a person.
Entrance Preview
JEE main. I scored 142 out of 360. I had interest in mechanical engineering and it is one of the best colleges in India.
Course Curriculum Overview
Actually it is really good. We got to learn subjects from all other branches in the 1st year. From 2nd and 3rd year onwards we got to choose 1 elective subject.Proffessors teach such that ,while studying one can develop interest in his/her favourite subject. So, we had decent curriculum overall.
Internships Opportunities
Actually I didn't do internship there. I got NOC from the college and did internship in ONGC, chem process system, precision autowares. Generally students get an internship under professors of the college according their inclination towards subject.
Placement Experience
We got very good opportunity in the final year during placement season.You can sit for core and non-core jobs in the placements. We had interviews of the core companies in the field of automobile, power etc. We had interviews of non core companies in the field of analytics etc.
College Events
We celebrated every festival with great fervor.We had several celebrations dedicated to different different hostels. So each and every person can participate in it. We had tow big events in a year. One event was technical and other one was cultural, under the banner of " Sparsh".
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's basically government college under MHRD. So you get all the benefits which government proposes. Fee structure is feasible. It's not too much or not too less. Fee structure is for per semester basis. It is fixed for all four years. It also includes tuition fees and exam fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships available for top ranked students in the college. Opgems scholarship, top ranked(meritorious) sc/st scholarship etc.
Campus Life
We had great campus life in SVNIT. We got in touch with technical clubs like Drishti and SAE. In extra curricular we had literary affairs committee, debate committee etc. We also had sports room for Table tennis. We had playground and also gym in the college. We also had good library and labs. We also got chance to represent our college in inter nit sports competitions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are really good. You can get a personal room from 3rd year onwards. Mess quality is average. We had feasts on Sundays. Breakfast is really good. We had basic amenities in the hostel. We also had sports room for Table tennis. We had playground and also gym in the college. We also had good library and labs.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, you can learn lot many things from seniors. You can get guidance in studies from them. They can also guide you during placement season.
Exam Structure
We had 8 semesters.we had mid semester nd end semester exams in each semester. In each subjects there were quizzes. For practical subjects there is practical performance and viva after the exam. Also it includes assignment submission also. In TOM, ED and machine design we had to go through practical drawing tests and questions based on that.
Admission
It is basically through CSAB. I got admission in the 1st round and then onwards verification procedure started. Verification procedure was cumbersome. Then I had to go for hostel admissions. We also had to pay fees for the 1st semester and also for the hostel admissions.
Faculty
We had good faculty for our core subjects. We had best professors for Thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and Heat Mass Transfer, automobile and IC engines.We developed great interest while studying there.On the top of it you have technical clubs like Drishti and SAE. It was overall healthy environment for learning.
