Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of the vast variety of success commerce is achieving. number of faculty is enough for the students. the teaching method is well and every faculty is qualified enough to be able to teach the respective subjects Passing was not difficult all you had to do was to focus on making notes and all the exams were timely organized.

Internships Opportunities

projects were regularly given to the students and they were easy to do also. the load of the projects was not so heavy although the amount of projects was a little high. internships were provided to the students.

Placement Experience

from 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements. highest package was around 6-7lps and the lowest was around 3lpa. 100% placement is offered by the college. my plan after getting the degree is to pursue for master's.

Fees and Financial Aid

cost of study is very high. scholarships and financial assistance are to be reviewed by visiting the college. jobs stiped in campus lies around 3lpa to 6 or 7lpa. companies do visit regularly in the college.

Campus Life

infrastructure is not as good as expected although the building is very well mannered apart from it there is not much of an area to be explored. books are provided through the college itself and availability is on points. there are no sports during my stay. there are some social groups like finance, dance, etc.

Admission

Eligibility of the course = 60% and above in all subjects from the 12th. You can find your application form from the official ggsipu website. reservation benefits can be reviewed on the website I didn't have any. admission process is slow as it takes over a day to get all things done.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College: A Prodigy to Become!

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the BCom Hons course curriculum at SBSC around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. One of the main reasons I chose this course was because it offers a good mix of commerce subjects like Financial Accounting, Business Law, and Corporate Law, along with exposure to Economics and Management, which seemed useful whether I go for MBA or competitive exams later. The first-year subjects felt more like a base, but from second semester onward it started to get a bit more practical. Each subject has 25 marks for internals and 75 for the main exam. Most exams are 3 hours long and subjective, and I’d say the difficulty level is moderate. If you’ve been regular with notes and study the past papers, it’s not hard to pass, but getting 8+ CGPA requires consistent effort. Overall, the curriculum gives a decent foundation but it could be way better if more practical components and industry exposure were added.

Placement Experience:

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college.The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
