What Students Say
Likes
- Campus is vast and there's plenty of stalls for food, stationary etc
- The college makes an effort to ensure students get placed.
Dislikes
- The faculty aren't qualified enough. Some are teaching subjects they know nothing about.
- Students are not allowed to use the elevators and are forced to climb up to 5 flights of stairs.
- No air conditioning, too many students, and poor computer labs.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for an MBA is Business Analytics which is in association with IBM and is one of the most popular courses in Chandigarh University with the highest number of placements. The teaching faculty is average and so is the tech infrastructure of the university. The university has exams all year round which are relatively easy to clear.
Internships Opportunities
Most companies were small startups, and each company mostly provided only sales internships. I was unable to secure an internship at the university. The university mandates internships in order to be eligible for on-campus placements.
Placement Experience
A lot of companies like Deloitte, Sutherland, Bajaj e, Mahindra Finance, etc recruit from Chandigarh University. Placements are tough due to the sheer number of students appearing for the interviews and candidates need to really stand out in order to get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee when I joined the university in 2022 for an MBA in Business Analytics, which is a specialized course, was 121000 per semester. In 2023, the fees for this course were raised to 149000 for freshers. Currently, I'm in my final year and have not been placed yet.
Campus Life
Although there are several events always taking place at campus, participation can be difficult especially since attendance is strict and leaves aren't granted easily. Talking about infrastructure, the campus is ginormous but the tech infrastructure is not up to the mark with computers barely working and no ACs, or elevators available for students. Class hours are long and the non-availability of air conditioning makes it difficult to focus. Most of the college clubs and extracurricular activities are run by students and student-managed disciplinary teams.
Admission
Chandigarh University has its own entrance exam called CUCET which is online(proctored) and upon clearing the same you may avail scholarship of a minimum of 10% to a maximum of 100%. The exam has questions on aptitude, reasoning, and English.
