What Students Say

- Giri Centre, Nature, Practice at field, Library are the places I liked most.
Dislikes
- The authority domination and students are not heard , this is the worst part. Students are oppressed.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose agriculture because many of my family members encouraged me to be a part of this profession and I also respect this field more than any other. Faculty is good and teaching and research are different so students don't face the unavailability of professors. The faculty is qualified and the fieldwork is too much for someone who doesn't want to do any sort of physical work and field work. The exam pattern was disturbed after lockdown but now it is on track.
Internships Opportunities
RAWE (Rural Agriculture Work Experience) and Agro-industry learning are the main internships that are paid and mandatory. In RAWE students have to go to villages to collect data and organize farmer pieces of training, and in industry, the students practice at their selected firms.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike policy is too much as most of the students are from farming families but after the protest of students the decision of fee hike was taken back. The study is affordable here. The scholarship is there for students who maintain their OGPA above 7.5(General) and 7(SC).
Campus Life
Fests haven't been held in the University for the last few years, although training and seminars are available. The library of the University is really nice and all sorts of books are available. Smart classrooms are there The sports center, Giri Centre, is really good one in the University.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms have an almirah, study table, fans in rooms, and coolers the students can take on their own but cost 2000 INR for one season. Mess is cooperative and under students. The hostel is affordable for students. Locality is fine for renting a room or PG but it can be costly.
Admission
In the Bsc Hons Agriculture 4-year programme entrance test students should be from the science stream. The application form is available on admissions.hau.ac.in or hau.ac.in. Ex-servicemen quota and reservation seats are there with low cut-offs, and LDV(Land donated village) quota seats are also there.
