Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS is a long and tough course comprising 4.5 years of rigorous study and 1 year of internship. I choose this because it provides me the platform to help out people, treat them and make them free from their sufferings In my college, the faculty is very engaging and cooperative with students, making it easier for students to get better results. Approx there is 1 HOD, 1 Associate professor, 1-2 Assistant professor, 3-5 JRs and tutors constituting a healthy faculty: student ratio. Talking about the qualifications of faculty, all are highly educated and completed their degrees from very prestigious colleges like AIIMS, MAMC, etc. All faculty believe in one-to-one interaction making concepts easier for students. Talking about term exams, there are proofs for each and every academic year. There are pre-proofs also just prior to proofs. Internal assessment is also conducted by every second month to assess student progress

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship starts after 4th year, student have to work under JRs who supervise them. They get paid around 15-25k per month variable from college to college. They have been posted in various departments for around 1-2 months treating the patients along with preparing for pg exams

Fees and Financial Aid

As ASMC Firozabad is a govt medical College, the fees of courses are negligible as compared to private colleges. Talking about MBBS, the annual fees will be around 36000 rupees for general category students. Rest depends upon your lifestyle. Hostel fees would be around 400 rupees per month. Scholarships are also provided in our college according to which nearly all your academic fees return to you at the end of the year. Several category-wise scholarships are also provided. In an internship, interns usually get 15-25k depending upon college and the present government.

Campus Life

3.5

Talking about the lifestyle of college , there is a college fest named SPANDAN organised each year in the month Feb - March consists of several events from traditional to sports, arts and crafts, quiz competitions, role play and many more things.

Admission

Myself Jatin Sharma, 2nd year MBBS student in ASMC Firozabad. I got admission through NEET ( National Eligibility cum entrance test ). Firstly you have to apply for NEET then through online, then clear the entrance exam which is of 720 marks out of which you have to score at least 610-620( for unreserved). Application fees are just around something 1800. After securing a good rank opt for the counselling process under which you will be allotted a medical College seat according to your rank and preferences. Reservation benefits are there as per the constitution. In the counselling process, there are state counselling and all india counselling. After getting a medical seat, opt for college for the studies. It's completely depression for you whether to stay at a hostel or a nearby college in case of localities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose it to be a good doctor. There are even 2-3 faculties in departments for 150 students so, in some it's bad. Some of the faculties are excellent in teaching but again many of them are slide readers. We have 2 terminal exams at the end of 3 months and a pre-university before the University exam.

Placement Experience:

During admission we sign an affidavit with UP government to work in rural area for 2 years or else give 10 lakh rupees. If selected for PG bond will continue after PG fir 5 years else 40 lakh fine. Since there is affidavit , UP government will itself provide job to us as MBBS doctors. Most of students appear for NEET PG exam and take admission in allotted college as junior resident. If one cannot clear NEET PG exam, they will either work in clinics and hospitals as MBBS doctors or they will join any college as demonstrators or Lecturers. The students who have completed internship of 1 year after 4.5 years course are eligible to take any job or practice in private. Salary of mbbs doctors in our country is 60-70 thousand monthly. Almost all students get placed in one or other place. I will get my MS and DM degree after mbbs and become a neurosurgeon.

Remarks:

The College is okay, for the students who focus on studies. They can easily glide through the test without worrying about anything else. The only problem is the college being so far from the city with just a highway in front of it. The nearest town is Ghaziabad which is ½ hour away. Can be easily reached by tempo or bus which frequents the hospital.
