Remarks

College management is not very active in interacting with students. Most of the steps taken are within interests of management itself. Overall the college is not worth the expenses. Only point that goes in favor of the college is the crowd of college.

Entrance Preview

I did't have enough marks in AIEEE exam to get into this college but i Got admission through management quota. At the time reputation of this college was quite good and also it was close to my home so , i opted for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Well, when I studied there it was under the affiliation of Punjab Technical University So, the course and curriculum were decided by university and college just followed that. All the subjects are decided by university except some optional subjects in last three semesters. For these optional subjects university offers choice among 4 or 5 subjects and college decides which subject is to be chosen. Rest was the execution of the provided curriculum. Some highlights are as follows 1. Monthly sessional Tests 2. Weekly assignments 3. Lab sessions 4. Seminars. 5. Expert lectures by Professors from other institutions.

Internships Opportunities

No, college does not provide any kind of internships. One has to look out for opportunities in other places.

Placement Experience

1

Placement and job opportunities are only in Computer science or IT field. Even the Mechanical and Electronics Students used attend computer and IT placements as there were no companies coming around for Mechanical and Electronics. For computer and IT field there were only one or two companies with good name and reputation. The rest were mainly local companies of Chandigarh region. Stats of placements vary drastically within departments. Where computer and IT departments have around 50% placements. On the other hand Mechanical and Electronics departments had almost 0% placements through campus placements drive as there were no companies of these fields that came to college.

College Events

3.5

Once in a year Cultural Fest is celebrated in college which goes on for 3 days including a star night. But the expenses of this is charged upon students. About Rupees 500 are collected from every student and every one is bound to pay that. Other than this there used to be some technical events organised within departments but not on campus level.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is almost same as of any other engineering college under the same university. Details of fee structure are as follows: Admission fee and other fees collected once: 8000 (approx.) Semester fee : 42000 (each semester, total 8 semesters) Hostel fee: 70000 Per year Examination fee:1250 (each semester) other than this if you have failed any semester exam then you have to pay Rupees 700 for reappearing. Overall it is an expensive college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships offered are by university on basis of marks scored in previous semester. The college itself provides no such offers or scholarships. The university also gives fee wavier to students from low income groups. Girls who are only child of their parents are also entitled to fee waiver.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is good as students not so much worried about attendance. One will always find students roaming around having fun. Gender ratio is equal and as for diversity mostly students are from north india such as Himachal, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu-Kashmir. There are no issues of religious or racial intolerance on campus. College does not allow the formation of parties or elections inside the college so there is almost none of politics happening.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities are also very average and does not justify the fee charged. Mess food is below average. As of boys hostel there is not much strictness about timings etc. Another disadvantage of staying in hostel is that campus is a bit far from Chandigarh. Its about 45 min. travel from college to the markets of Chandigarh Hostel seats are few compared to students on campus. So you might have to look for PG facilities, nearby PGs available are in Kharar and then further in Mohali and Chandigarh. Average cost of PG is 6500 per month including food.

Alumni/Alumna

Sadly there is no such thing as alumni network. College barely keeps track of its former students and never are they invited for events etc. As of seniors its all on you how well connected you are with your seniors. College does not play any role in that.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was decided by the university. There were sessional tests every month and assignments on weekly basis but overall the schedule was very relaxed and chilled out. No Strictness regarding marks or attendance. If you have even once wished morning to your teacher you will get attendance for entire semester. Basically college doesn't really care if you attend classes or not.

Admission

as i could not get in through counselling i approached a member of management who was my known. On his letter of reference i got in easily. Admission process is very simple , they just ask you for your documents. And once documents are verified you just have to pay the fee and its all done.

Faculty

2

Faculty standards vary as we move up the hierarchy. The faculty on good positions like Head of departments were very well qualified but the other teachers were not. There were teachers who had just completed their graduation. So, faculty wise the college is really average.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is good and it is improving since then. TPO looks after this process and it is responsible to call comapnies to the college and discuss about the eligibility of the students who can appear for the placements. For internships, students in the 3rd year appear for it while for placements 4th year students can appear. The average package is approx. 8-9 LPA while the highest has gone to 64 LPA during my college duration. Almost all students get placement.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??
