Vignan Alumni - What the collge gives you!

No ragging. That is the best part. I mean there is ragging but everything under limits. Choose Vignan if you love decent disciplined system.

I have taken EAMCET entrance exam and I have scored 12000 rank. I have opted for EEE branch since it was my dream to work in electrical! I have got seat in Vignan in my first counseling itself.

The course structure was excellent. Every year, at the beginning of the course we were handed the syllabus sheet along with suggested text book names by the faculty. The laboratories were marvelous. Me being a Electrical student loved the Networks lab, Machines lab! The machines lab had huge motors, generators and we were ordered to were protective footwear with rubber soles to avoid current shocks.

No, there is no internship in our college. We had to manually search for internship options in and around. Usually our batch mates preferred the Hindustan shipyard or the Steel plant since they were in the city.

The placements were pretty good in Vignan. We had TCS, Infosys, IBM, Syntel etc MNC companies take a written test and then interview the qualified students. The packages varies from 2.5 LPA to 5 LPA. The cut off for all the MNC companies was minimin of 70% so far. Most of our batch mates got placed. There were no electrical core based job opportunities in our company.

We have many events in our college. Every now and then we had knowledge sharing event where we share our ideas with others. We had Freshers, farewell parties and also annual day celebrations. We had fests that other college people love visiting and we conduct they with our volunteering.

The fee structure is as follows: For Day-Scholar Yearly fee 70000 + Building fee Bus fee 12000 aproxx Hosteller Yearly fee 150000 Apart from this multiple people in our college have got fee reimbursement, they were under privileged with poor backgrounds, and the government paid for them.

Yeah education loan for Vignan college is available since its one of the top colleges in the city. Also there is fee reimbursement that the government of Andhra Pradesh is offering to students that have the eligibility.

The campus life is excellent. There is a huge basket ball court, football court, cricket ground and volleyball/badminton grounds. The gender ratio is almost equal. The quality is excellent if you ask me. Most of the students in the college are from the Steel plant employees families. We had special classes that help slow learners.

WOW. This is the best part. The college hostel is Amazing. I have only been to the girls hostel so all I can tell you is the rooms are super spacious. They have attached bathroom and a dressing room (YES! DRESSING ROOM). The food provided to the hostelers is yummy!! They are given rice, roti, curry, one vegetable chutney, sambhar, dal and curd. they have television and indoor games facility! Also, the hostel is a u shaped building with a park in the center. There is 24*7 security and the wardens are super friendly! There are options for PG outside the college, near kurmanapallem, that is near Steel plant, Vizag. The average price is around 4000 per month with food.

The alumni network is average. The college is bad at hosting any alumni activities. We never got a chance to meet the college after we passed out. Our juniors still try to contact us in facebook etc, but the college doenst take any initiatives to improve the relationship between the juniors seniors.

The exam patter was JNTUK. We had 2 mid term exams every semester and end of semester exam. Every mid exam had an online quiz for 10 marks, for which we were supposed to select MCQ answers in the computer lab. There was no negative marking. The exam structure is pretty chilled out if you ask me. Just listen to the professors class and keep a running notes with your understandings.

I have taken my counseling results form along with my Eamcet score sheet and my Inter and tenth marks sheets. The notification was released arounf September that year. The administration was outstanding and the faculty helped me choose the college. There was a huge form filling session where we were to give our complete details and submit along with our photographs and the original 10th and Inter certificates.

The faculty at the college were both pretty strict and helpful. We had faculty with different years of experience. We had young faculty who would clearly explain us the concepts. The older faculty were pretty grim. The were intimidating yet they were friendly. The had lot of knowledge to share and the way they explained concepts made us clear of the concepts.
