Remarks

This is not a college its a school. There is a lot of strictness and the schedule is very hectic. The placements are also not that good. In one line it's not worth the money.

Entrance Preview

JEE 55 marks I choose electrical engineering because it has less competition. Their are only 60 students in my class as compared to Cse who have 2600 thats a lot of difference.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is good. The syllabus is not that hard in 1st year and its the extension of what you studied in 11th and 12th in chemistry and physics. There are a lot of scope in the research department if you have a good idea in mind the college will provide you with a team to complete your research.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know still about it because I am still in my 2nd year and I'm yet to take any internship. But from seniors I have heard that college will provide you with good internship and if you want internship on your own than that option is also open.

Placement Experience

1.5

There are a lot of company which come for placements but the main placements is for the computer science engineers. There are some good packages on offer every year but according to the current scenario of the market most of the students are mass placed. Placement is good only for some student others have to roam without jobs.

College Events

3.5

There are a Lot of events celebrated at my college. A lots of star come for their promotion every now and then. Katrina kaif , nawazuddin sidique, siddhart malhotra and a lot of punjabi singers have comed so far. They have mainly 3 main events each year. The tech fest, the cultural fest and the freshers party.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is expensive. 64500 tution fee per semester plus additional exam fees fest fees and other fees round it about to 70000 per semester which is lot more than the colleges around which take about 45000. The hostel fees is also 75000 which is not worth the money.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a lot of scholarships for the minorities. For sc/st of punjab the study is free. For obc also there is a lot of concession. For general students who have good marks in jee and 12th board they also get the concession. They also provide you with the loan facility of pnb and other banks.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is average in our college but for my course it is very less and same goes for mechanical engineering because very less girls take these streams. There are only 2 girls in my class. Tgere is no issue of ragging or that sort. They have a special anti ragging squad. All the students are treated equally. There is no politics going around in our college.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

The hostel and mess standard are very low. The food is of very cheap quality. Most of the hostel students skip their 1 ir 2 meal of mess daily and Order the food from outside. One thing which is good that is cleanliness the hostels and bathroom remain clean 24*7. The rooms are shared by four studeNTS each.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very helpful . The interactions i had with them they tried to help me in most of the issues .

Exam Structure

The schedule at chandigarh university is very hectic they take three sessional exams and one semester exam every semester add to that they take 3 lab practicals of each practical subject per semester. You will have 3 or 4 practicals every week and you have to submit the practical file every next week otherwise they will give you zero assessment.

Admission

I first took admission in mechanical engineering in cgc Landran but than I transferred my admission to chandigarh university in electrical engineering. I went directly to the admission office and the rest they helped me in filling the forns and all the other formalities.

Faculty

3.5

It depends upon teacher to teacher. You can't really say all the faculty is very bad and you also can't say all the faculty is good. I got some good teachers in all the semesters and have encoubter with some bad ones also. But one thing is sure all the faculty is highly qualified.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
