Remarks

Number of courses should be minimised and exam pattern should need to upgrade in online manner. Currently the library has been turned into digital library and all catalogue is online now.

Entrance Preview

I took University Entrance Exam which was based on CBSE syllabus and NCERT books. It was 50% General Science and 50% Current Affairs based exam. Agriculture was considered second best option after medical. I did good with rank 1165 in all category.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The overall course was divided into core courses and few elective courses. Some classes we had jn Basic Science college too such as English Grammar, Computer Science and Rural Psychology etc. Except this all other agriculture courses were well designed with minimum 2 lectures and one 3 hours practical in a week.

Internships Opportunities

We do have the internship programme which was blended with 4th year of degree. The course has core objectives to provide exposure to students in all field of agriculture. Likely in that, 1 month industrial internship provided in chemicals, seed production, micro irrigation and fertilizer companies. We do not get stipend as it was course part, but certificate of internship usually provided.

Placement Experience

4.5

The campus placement as well as selection in other services is absolutely well collected. Usually State Bank of India comes to take at least 30-40 graduates in the package of 3-4 lacs/annum in year 2005. Other companies such as Monsanto, Mahindra, ITC, Anchal Dairy, Dupont etc also comes providing a package of average 4-5 lacs now.

College Events

4

Our colleges have some regular annual celebrations like Fresher Party, teachers day celebration, farewell party, other national day celebration as well. There is one interesting event called Agriculture Fair where students have their own stalls with various items and games. Also, biggest celebration is Agriculture Night where students showcase colorful performance of dance, drama, fashion show and musical talent too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is mot that much because its government institute and the tution fees taken half yearly based. The approximate value in Rs. 5000-8000/-. Except this hostel facility available at rs. 300 monthly and no electric charges need to pay by students. Similarly if any student want to scrutiny any exam paper in given time slot can be checked by paying Rs. 100/- per paper based. As scholarship provided to merit students and low fee structure, the fees is not a actual barrier in study here.

Fees and Financial Aid

University has providing scholarship to all topper in their batches those who were selected in entrance examination. Except this , a special scholarship also provided who come from under privileged family (forgot the name) and usually applied in the month of September .

Campus Life

3.5

Hostel life started after 5 pm once the classes are over. There are many indoor and outdoor competitions as inter hostel championship as well as inter college contests. We do have cultural society that organises various celebration either college or department level. Nowadays the ratio of boys:girls shifted in reverse gear and found in 3:7. Thanks to govt policy to encourage female candidates by giving 50% reservation overall.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels have been improved since 2005. Many other facilities like water cooler, entertainment room with tv, indoor sports such as table tennis, badminton court has been upgraded. The food quality is usually inspect by Food Secretary and warden of hostel time to time. The secretary was selected among the student. Usually the food quality is better than market food.

Alumni/Alumna

Our university has established one alimni society with name of 4A (alma-mater alumni agri association) that invite different pass out batches recently. We facilitate them and inspired by their position and contribution toward university. They are helping to provide different funds, technology as well as willing to help for providing jobs on interview basis.

Exam Structure

The exam schedule is designed in such a mannner that almost end of every 2nd month we have list of examinations. There are nearly two hourly exams of 15 marks each, followed by 20 marks practical exam and 50 marks for external/internal exam. We usually have not much free time as per schedule.

Admission

I had form from my friend which was notified near April month. After exam that happened in May end, the result was announced within a month through post I had form from my friend which was notified near April month and counselling called based on merit. It was second counselling that we were reported at morning 10 am in Registrar office.

Faculty

4.5

Most of the faculty are also scientist in different fields related to plant disease, insects infestation, agriculture economics and crop production etc. They are all PhD holders with 5-20 years of experience in teaching and research. The courses are regularly taught by teachers who are expert in specific field rather than general expertise based. Some personality development course also included where with different activities as debate, group discussion, team based performance checked and scored under test too.

The college has consistent placement record , reflecting strong academic, industrial training exposure. The placement cell also provide guidance for further and better opportunities, I guess there is no college which give direct placement for agriculture, yes we get to collaborate with many good training institutes and as far as i have seen majority of students go for Maters for the same course. In courses like AME, BHM, BCA & IT the college has significantlly good score, pharmacy department also has good no. of placements in MAX, Apollo, Cipla, Zydus lie companies.
