Remarks

College is fairly good . To say the least i love my college .it was wonderful being part of this college. Some sour points are college needs more freedom ib choosing subjects for curriculum. Also needs more exposure for increasing placement opportunities. A few machines need updation and greenery management needs focus .

Entrance Preview

MP Pre ENGINEERING TEST. I secured 1844 rank (score 124/200) in the test. It is one of best government engineering colleges of MP , established in 1957 ,it has all machinery for research and highly qualified professors.Research and excellence have been milestones of college and produced many top position holders of country like VK SARASWAT(DRDO chief), Prof. R.V. SHEVGAONKAR(DIRECTOR,IIT DELHI ), and many more. It ranked 55th all India in TEQIP survey done recently. This also ranks 18th All india for B.Arch course I opted for course as i had passion for engineering since childhood and i wanted to solve problem of electricity deficit of country ever since. There was only a written examination for entrance and good rank holders are allocated seats by counselling online. Jyotiraditya scindia (Ex power minister and current MP of LS ,Guna) is chairman of college trust . He has paid personal attention to needs of students and made it wonderful learning experience

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is quite standard and without any surprises. It also included subjects from humanity department for every course which was a good thing. It was good for understanding of field and course but research aspect gathered pace only by 6th semester which in my opinion is quite late. Regular field visits along with workshops in college were helpful for research and experiencing real time problems. Masters course of college was more oriented towards research than graduation course. However a little freedom to decide on selective subjects of each semester could have helped a lot by boosting expertise and interest in a topic

Internships Opportunities

I do not have adequate knowledge about internships but to best of knowledge it is not available because it is a state government engineering college and since administration of college is under DTE therefore it becomes difficult for internship opportunities and stipend availability

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement record has been great for college. Bulk of interested students get easily placed. Placement percentage for all students is about 80% . Average placement is about 4.5-5.5 lakh/annum Trident 9.5 lac Infosys 3.75 lac Techmahindra 3.25 lac Mahindra susten 4.5 lac Schneider india 4.75 lac BINA OMAN REFINERY LIMITED 5.8 lac LnT infotech 3.3 lac Birla cement 2.4 lac Britannia 5.5 lac Ranbaxy Accenture Quickheal 9.09 lac Capegemini 3.75 lac Quickr 11 lac mcarbon 3.5 lac Jmna auto 2.8 lac Reatail on 5.0 lac Many more Indian army and navy come for recruitment on yearly basis as oart of UES College provides additional help for competitive examinations 2013,2014,2015 candidates from mechanical ,electrical, civil secured 3rd,7th,6th rank in GATE exam respectively

College Events

3

College holds regular cultural , technical ,sports events. Event of state level are weekly sight. While national level events generally took place on monthly basis. There was annual sports function and technical cum cultural fest is conducted by students themselves provided they are willing. It is famous in local area as bands like Raeth , dhol punk have performed here. In 2010 dr vishwas was also here. It is seat of ISTE student chapter ,MP . Also IEEE conducts paper presentation annually

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very affordable . As the college is funded by government of MP , annual fee for a general category male candidate is about 35000 annually. While there is a scholarship by govt for students of backward classes and their fee amounts to 8000 rs per annum Many scholarships are available for students including stationary

Fees and Financial Aid

Government offers grant to college. Half of tuition fee( decided by DTE )of every candidate is paid by government itself. For sc/st/obc students complete tution fee was waived. University to which college is affiliated provided scholarship for toppers of every stream . Poor candidates were also provided tution fee waiver. Sc/st candidates were provided stationary along with waiver. Also there is a scheme for meritorious students who passed 12th from state education board .

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio was skewed in favour of males about 65:35. Campus life was simply awesome , it is very free atmosphere . A big canteen and cafeteria . A lot of events on daily basis by students themselves. NCC branch in campus boosted career prospects along with great fitness time . It had gym , a music room , huge stadium It is an active branch of NSS . Many students of institute were part of a NGO bliss and actively engaged in soci work. Entrepreneurship cell also provided valuable inputs by conducting workshops . Composition was fairly diverse candidates from whole state as well as other states entered . GOI quota enabled students from North East India to be part of college. college was not charged sexually ... In other words there were no such cases of harrassment by faculty or students. Politically , board is chaired by honourable MP lok sabha and ex-power minister HH Jyotiraditya scindia. Secretary is ramesh agrwal (multiple time MLAin state legislature of MP) . College is largely aloof of crafty politics and focus is on holistic human resource development without bias. Economically it does not face a crunch as government provides grant so it is available timely and is ample in amount

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel is best among all state govt engineering colleges of state of MP. Room are provided in first year by first come dmfirst serve basis while on merit from second year. Hygine and cleanliness was well maintained by administration. Room was present in sharing as two students per room. High speed internet connection, Common room with TV , TT ,CARROM etc were provided There was also seperate basketball and volleyball ground for hostel students within hostel Food availablity was not issue however quality was not that good Hostel is very affordable about 14000 per annum including fee for food and residence

Alumni/Alumna

There are regular visits by alumini of college. They give their contact details and are helpful in providing employment opportunities as many of them have become CEO of various successful company ex R satyanarayan(CEO career launcher) etc They provide with guidance by regular lectures and provide help readily for various opportunities

Exam Structure

It was hectic indeed . Exams were a regular feature of semester. There used to be 4-5 labs weekly. Focus was equally on theory and practical. Theory outweighed practicals by littile margin. There were 5 theory exams 4 practical exams per semester along with seminar and discussion assessment. Mid terms form an integral part of exam. But 2 days per week was off which provided much needed relief

Admission

Notification was released in march/april 2011 for MPPET test and it was held on 22 may 2011 , About 6 lakh candidates appeared for exam, exam was of 200 marks (100 maths ,50 each chemistry and physics) and as per scores ranks were alloted and accordingly as per choice of candidates seats were allocated, results were out in a month or so . Final seat allocation of seat after counselling was done by 4th july 2011 students were to deposit fee by 8 july . Process of admission was although long and hectic but it was made hasslefree by administration support . orientation programme was held on july15,2011 .course commenced from 17 july,2017

Faculty

3

Faculty is quite great. Most of professors are IIT alumni. And they engage with students very well. Some famous faculty are Dr laxmi srivastava, dr manjri pandit, dr sanjiv jain( present VC-vaishnodevi university). Some young teachers were enthusiastic and very helpful. A few were lazy but overall faculty was good for all aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as quite relevant and well-structured. Most subjects are updated according to current industry needs. The faculty also puts effort into explaining topics with practical examples instead of just theory which I genuinely appreciate for there hard work The curriculum covers both core concepts and modern technologies which actually helps in preparing for internships and further needs and i choose Artificial intelligence because it is latest and the future is in ai and everyone somewhere related to artificial intelligence and so i decided this course for my furture safe and good future
