Unforgettable experience!!

Overall the college is very good , but the hostel feels very restricted lately , except that part our its amazing.

I gave MU-OET (Manipal University Online Entrance test ). I scored 90 marks as far as I remember and obtained a rank of 14k (approx.) . My first preference was Computer Science and second was Mechanical but due to low rank I got Mechanical engineering. Iam very happy with my branch.

Talking about my course( Mechanical) , the course structure is very good and up to date , we are being taught the latest softwares which are being used in the industry ( CATIA, Creo etc) and If someone wishes to opt for research he can do so. As of now we have been given an opportunity to chose our Open electives( we can opt for electives of our field of interest expect for mecahnical ) which is very adaptive in nature and this breaks the monotonous nature of the course. Unfortunately, Manipal University Jaipur does not provide internships for our Branch( according to my knowledge). But the teachers are kind enough to help us in guiding us to get the internships.

The college is relatively new and the college has just got the UGC approval ( early 2017) , not many companies come in for Mechanical. I know that AIS comes and gives a package of approximately 3 lakhs p/a. The placements are better in CS and IT , companies like Amazon (10 lakhs p/a), Dell (8.5 lakhs p/a) CabGemini (3.5 lakhs p/a) and Think and Learn have come.

Cultural fest-Oneiros Magnanimous fest with loads of opportunity to participate in many activities and enjoy the overall fest, Technical fest- Techideate Very texhnical fest , conducts war of robots , overnight coding competitions and invites speakers for Talks Sports fest- Abhivarta Ive never seen so many athletes come together on same ground , the atmosphere is amazing while the sports fest , we also conduct the lesser known sports like kabbadi and other college also come to participate in our fest

Our college tuition fee is - 2,42,000 /- p/a Hostel fees is : 1,73,150 /- p/a Breakup--- Hostel fees: 96,500 Facility Management fees for hostel:17,700 Mess charge: 58,950 The overall fee structure is little expensive but the facilities given are far better than any other college.The tuition fees does not increase but the hostel fees has been increasing, especially the room fee and the mess fees.

Students obtaining 10 CGPA have been given scholarships, I guess loan is offered to the students who are willing to study but cannot afford the fees , the students can talk to the HOD's about it and they might get loan from the college.

The gender ratio is approximately 60:40 (boys:girls), student parties are not conducted but the cultural fest brings all the students together, manipal is very diverse culturally and no gender descrimination is there , neither there are religious groupings and everybody accepts everyone very well. Manipal is a place where lot of students come from a strong economic and political background but I have never experienced any discrimination and nor have my friends faced any problem. Everybody has to follow the same procedure. Many competions are kept during our technical fest and other colleges are more than welcomed to participate in any event, as mentioned earlier the fest is very technical and fun to be part of. MUN's are also very big part of our college.

The hostel rooms are very good , sufficient space with our own bathrooms in every room is provided, we have the option to chose single occupancy rooms or double occupancy rooms, the hostel capacity is nearly about 7000 so hostel rooms are enough. All the rooms in our hostel are air conditioned and heated centrally and room cleaning is also very prompt. Coming to the mess, the quality of food is good but not the taste , the breakfasts are very good but dinner is not so good , many people eat in other restaurants which are there in our hostel. People tend to dislike the mess as they stay longer in the hostel, the mess has scope of improvement

Our college is against ragging and so are the students studying here. We call our seniors by name or call them Bhaiya, gone are those days when you had to call them 'Sir' or 'Maam' , we have got excellent seniors which are very helpful and guide us all the time.

There are 2 seassional exams and one End semester exam which is conducted in a semester. Class test and quizes are part of our daily lives. We have 2 labs per week , depending on the branch it can be upto 5 labs per week , few days are hectic but overall the time table is pretty chill.

I filled the form of MU-OET online and paid the examination fee online , I was given an option to choose the time and date of my choice. The form is available April . Its an online exam and you get the reaults right after you are done with the exam. The administration is very helpful and prompt , the issues were quickly sorted.

Manipal is known for hiring the best professors, talking about my branch the quality of teachers is exceptional. The teachers are really involved in the class and help us after the college hours as well. The minimum qualification is masters for the professors, so far we have got professors who are currently doing research and offer us to help them , this allows us to learn alot from them.
