SRM Institute of Science and Technology: Opportunity meets a Perfect Campus Experience

I opted for Computer Science and Engineering due to the opportunities the course gives you. Each class has around 72 students but this number is reduced to 60 in the consequent years. The faculty are all very knowledgeable and approachable, and you can approach your Faculty Advisor for any issue; be it attendance, misplaced ID cards, opportunities, guidance etc. Your FA will also keep you informed on upcoming events and competitions. The exams are also conducted periodically, you have 3 cycle tests and one university theory examination per sem. The CTs and other lab experiments account for 60% of your overall grade while the UTE is worth 40% of your grade. If you study periodically, you should be able to perform well on all tests.

I myself am not eligible for internships yet, but a lot of people I know say the opportunities are really good, especially for to-be software engineers. If you're skilled enough, you will get internships.

Students become eligible for placements in their third year. A lot of reputed companies such as Amazon, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Apple come for campus interviews. The highest package was 1 CPA last year, and the average should be around 8-10 LPA. Placement percentages are well above 98%

Considering the fact that it's a private university, the fees are rather fair. If your rank is really good, you don't need to pay tuition fees, just the hostel fees. However, if your rank is just good enough to make you eligible for the course, you need to pay around 4 lakhs....however, there are various other scholarships such as defence scholarships and you can also avail of student loans

The main cultural fest is called Milan and is really impressive. The guests are very popular and the event itself is well-planned. Furthermore, students from other colleges may also attend it. This event is organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs The tech fest is called Aarush, and while it isn't as glamorous, it is well worth attending. You'll have a lot of fun and gain a lot of experience from experts in the field. This event is held by the Directorate of Alumni Affairs The library is huge. It will fulfil all your academic needs, and there's also an online database you can access. The classrooms are large and well equipped with everything professors need....projector screens, boards plug points etc. The ventilation is also top-notch. The extracurricular amenities are also large in number and can accommodate a lot of people simultaneously.

Our rooms are big enough. My room came with an attached washroom, beds for two, and an AC unit, although there are other options. The food has variety and is diverse, including items from both northern and southern cuisine. In comparison to a lot of other colleges, we have it pretty well. Hostels are a bit hard to get due to demand but it's worth the hype.

Admission was fairly easy; it is conducted via an entrance exam called SRMJEEE held in four phases. On clearance, you'll get an email informing you of your eligible courses and they'll ask you to pay a partial fee to book your seat.
