Overall review of SRM University

I'm an engineering graduate of batch 2022 & specialized in the Electronics and communication branch. I have chosen this branch because ECE is the only branch where students get almost equal job opportunities as the CS/IT students get and ECE students also have the chance to go into the chip designing field or in core sectors if they want. There is a good ratio of faculty and students according to the departments. Teachers are highly qualified ( most of them are PhD holders) with good teaching skills. If I talk about exams then they are held every month like in one semester we have to give 2 CTs, 1 PUE and the final semester exam.

SRM University provides students with a range of internship opportunities, both in India and abroad. The university has partnerships with a number of companies and organizations, which provide students with hands-on experience in various industries and fields and these companies are DXC, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, HCL and many more. The projects and tasks that students undertake during their internships vary depending on the company and the role. For example, students who undertake a software development internship may be involved in coding, testing, and debugging software, while students who undertake a marketing internship may be involved in market research, advertising, and promotional activities.

SRM University offers good placement, with many reputed companies visiting our campus to recruit students. Students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards. A variety of companies visit SRM University each year, including names such as TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, and many more. The average package offered to SRM University students varies depending on the program, profile, and company. In recent years, the average package has ranged from 5 to 8 Lakhs per annum, while the highest package has ranged from 20 to 40 Lakhs per annum. Almost 90% of students get the job through campus placement and the rest started preparing for other competitive exams such as a gate. Basically, I have decided to do the job rather than study for my master's.

Regarding scholarships, SRM University offers various types of scholarships to deserving students based on merit and/or financial need. The university also provides campus jobs to its students through its placement cell, the companies that visited our campus are DXC, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, and HCL. These companies hire students in bulk with an average package of 4-5 lpa.

Life at the SRM Campus is a mixture of academic, and cultural activities. There is a number of clubs and societies that cater to various interests and hobbies such as music, dance, photography, debates, quizzes, and many more. The university has a well-equipped library with a large collection of books and journals. The library is open 24/7 and provides students with access to online databases. The classrooms of SRM University are spacious and well-equipped with modern amenities such as air-conditioning, interactive whiteboards, and audio-visual aids. Sports and extra-curricular activities are an integral part of the university experience at SRM. The university has a number of sports facilities, including basketball and volleyball courts, a football ground, a cricket ground, and a swimming pool. There are also opportunities for students to participate in inter-college sports tournaments.

To get admission to this college you should have at least 70% in 12 and then you have to register for admission on their official website after that you have to give a test. Based on your rank secured in that test you will be allotted the branch. There are some reserved seats also available for those who don't want to give the test and for that they have to give extra money excluding the college fees. You can find the registration form on their official website and it opens in the month of February.
