IIT Roorkee, The bliss of R- Land

I chose this course because I wanted to step into the industrial world. The faculty-student ratio is about average because the faculty has to be chosen from among the best. All faculties are Ph.D. graduates from the most established universities in the world. Their teaching method varies from prof. To prof. but all of them have innovative ways to teach the concepts to students. The exams were all oriented toward a basic understanding of the concepts and if you know enough about the same, congratulations you're the topper.

The fee structure is broken down into many segments, there's a tuition fee of INR 1,00,000. Then there are hostel fees, maintenance fees, mess charges, library, and many more.. all of which cumulate to INR 1.5L per semester. The fee was quite low a few years back, but it suddenly increased. But this fee is still far lower than what many private universities ask for. There are a lot of scholarship programs for IITians, governmental as well as private. There's a concept of fee waiver as well for the unprivileged ones.

There are many fests but two most important ones. Thomson, the cult fest, and cognizance, the tech fest! They both are conducted in October and March respectively. I don't know how many books are there because even after staying in college for so long, I still haven't been able to explore the entire Library, it's really that big. Classrooms are very high-tech and new. (on every desk, there's a charging Port) IIT Roorkee is famous for its sports, the inter IIT meet of 2022-23 was won by IIT Roorkee itself. The club activities are something that'll take up your spare time and convert it into something productive. There's an entire chain of social media pages for every club, and their websites are run by the students themselves.

The admission process was through JEE advanced examination. You have to clear each individual subject cut-off as well as the overall cut-off of the exam and should be in 12th standard or 12+1 to give this exam. You have to give JEE mains first whose details you can find on the NTA website. After clearing JEE mains, you are eligible to give JEE advanced information you can find on JEE advanced website. There is a lot of reservation for seats in IIT. There is a separate female sub-quota in every reservation quota. In SC/ST quota all of your tuition fees is waivered, while if your family is not financially stable, there's also a fee waiver for that. The admission process was perfect as it could be. Most of it was online, physical verification was required only a day before classes started!
