Sneak Peek to IIT BHU Varanasi

The eligibility of the course is that you should be from the science stream in 12th and you should have qualified JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The application for JEE Mains is through NTA and JEE ADVANCED is conducted every year by IITs. The application fees for girls of all categories are 1400, SC/ST/PWD 1400, and 2800 for all others. The application dates are usually from August to September. I got the reservation benefit of OBC NCL where tuition fees got reduced to 1/3rd.

I had a genuine interest in computer science and engineering. I loved to code and learn new things in the technology field. In our department, a faculty usually teaches 130-170 students depending upon the subject. All our professors are well qualified and had done their PhD from renowned IITs or Foreign institutes. They all teach excellently with some through slides and others through blackboard. We have a midsemester exam and an end-semester exam in one semester. We regularly have quizzes and assignments. The exams are of medium level and are not difficult to pass.

Around 150 companies come to the college for various roles such as Software, product, full-stack, supply chain, and consultancy. Companies such as sprinklr, and de shaw give around 2 lacs per month to interns, and companies such as Samsung come with internships of 50000 per month. The students work either offline or online during their internship period. Usually, the internship period is 2-3 months.

Students are eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. A total of 1185 offers were made during phase 1 of the IIT BHU placements 2022 batch. The highest is 2.2 crores from UBER international. The top recruiters were uber, zeta, Microsoft, oracle, google, amazon, sprinklr, Samsung, jp morgan, unacademy, Goldman Sachs, de shaw, etc. The average package is around 24 lakhs. The profiles under which the company recruits are finance, product, consultancy, software, and data science. more than 90% of people in our college get placed. I would go for a good MNC and like to give my greatest contribution after getting my degree.

For general students the fee is 1lacs for 1 semester for obc candidates the fee is around 40000 and for SC/ST/PWD it's 16000. The fees are generally increased after 6-7 years. There are various scholarships running in college from government and private institutions. There is also iitbhu foundation which awards students based on their merit. The job and internship are at par with all the top IITs with the highest placement of 90laks as domestic and 2.2crore as international.

Kashiyatra is the cultural fest which occurs in January, Technex is the techno fest which occurs in march, Spardha is the sports fest which occurs in October and FMC weekend is the digital arts fest which occurs in Feb. All the majors books including academic and non-academic are available in our IIT BHU main library. We have projectors, mics, speakers, fans, wall fans windows, and a capacity of more than 200 students in our lecture halls. Almost all sports are played in our IIT. We have three big grounds with 1 gymkhana and 1 top class, and a well-facilitated student activity center.SCS, E-Cell, Biz Club, Masquerades, and DFZ are a few of the clubs run by students and for the students

Our hostel rooms have fans, windows one bed and one table chair. Our rooms are properly lighted. You can eat how much you want. There is a special lunch on Saturday and our mess is off on Saturday night. The menu is designed to keep the health of the students. We have three satvik messes for people who eat food without onion and garlic. The hostels are quite affordable with proper facilities for water coolers and bathrooms. You have to pay 12000 for a hostel+mess per semester.
