Remarks

College management needs to shed out more funds for betterment of college. and the most important thing they should do something about Training & Placement office. Rest, college is good in terms of education.

Entrance Preview

I gave UPSEE-2011 and got overall rank around 26400. Being a female, I got a ladies quota and got couple of options in Ghaziabad at my rank. When I went for counselling, I had to fill the names of college I wanted to choose. My friend's brother had known someone in this college and reported it to be a good one. I wanted to have Computer Science as my subject but at my rank it was not possible to have it in good college. So I chose Ideal with Electrical & Electronics and planned to change my course later.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course Curriculum is good and at par with University level. However, the books prescribed by college varies. Sometimes they prefer foreign authors and sometimes local professors. One is given adequate options to switch to a different course. Apart from Theory classes, focus on labs was adequate. Overall, course structure and coverage is good.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college does not provide any internship to Electrical Engineering students. Everyone of us is required to find a one after 3rd year, may be after 2nd year now. They do give a letter to the concerned authority. Whereas I know, at that time, they didn't even provide internships to students from other branches.

Placement Experience

2

Placement opportunities were pretty good back in 2007. But with time and specially after recession in 2008, opportunities slowed down. Hardly students got placed. In 2011, approx. 10 companies had come mainly for Computer Science students and took about 50-60 students. So, out of 400 students in my batch, about 12. 5% students were placed. Companies like HCL comnet, SMS Siemag (taken to some other college for drive), RSystems and Birlasoft (called after 8 months of offer letter) were there. Approx offered package was 2. 5 LPA to 3. 2 LPA. SMS Siemag offered 4. 5 LPA.

College Events

4

College fest are organized once in 2years. It lasted for 2 days. Finance was supported by college management and organized by students with support of teachers. It includes technical, cultural and management aspects. Technical: Quiz contests related to each branch was organized. Coding competition was there in which many students participated. Cultural: Performances like dance competition- solo and group, Solo, duet and group singing, mimicry, plays etc. were organized. Management: Students were awarded in the fest- branch toppers, college toppers. List of well placed students were announced. The best part about fest was food. I loved their caterer.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was expensive as compared to govt. colleges but similar to other private colleges of Ghaziabad. Fees was approx 76000 in first year and decreased by certain amount every year. In my final year I paid 50000 as my college fees. This fees excluded hostel fees and includes lab fees and other expenses like security, convocation, library etc. Hostel fees ranged from 36000 to 45000 in my stay there depending

Fees and Financial Aid

I never availed any scholarship but yes they do help people in need. One needs to show proper documents and scholarship could be availed.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio for entire college was 60 girls to 340 boys. Extra curricular was good. They had quite number of competitions for sports like football- inter college matches, indoor sports, dance competitions, coding contests. There is a huge ground for students to practice for sports. Robotics workshops were held time to time and students participated in competitions related to it. apart from it, each department had own club in which regular events were organized. Birthday celebrations were part of hostels. On every birthday we met at 12 wished that person and enjoyed. On next day we cut cake, had snacks and danced. Initial ragging was there but nothing bad went. People from all castes were there and there was no biasing in any form. It was good college in terms of equality. Economic status was mainly middle class dominant.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities were average. There's nothing extraordinary that one gets in facilities in hostel here. Rooms are provided with single, double and triple occupancy. prices differ for all starting from 3000 a month to 5000. Food is included in this. Elec

Alumni/Alumna

Not as such. I do get mails from them but I never wished to go back there. College is located pretty far from main city However, I am connected to some of them via facebook.

Exam Structure

Exams pattern was very good. Question paper was set very wisely and with University standards. Coverage of the questions was good. Marks were given appropriately. There was no biasing in terms of marks in internal exams. A student could score as high as 8

Faculty

3.5

Faculty in Ideal is not that great. Only some of the professors/lecturers are well qualified. There was one of the faculty, Abhishek Bhardwaj, who lacked in communication skills but was very knowledgeable. He went out of the box to explain networks and th

Placement Experience:

Average package at GLA University may range between 5-7 lakhs but one student has managed to get placements of 55 lakhs and that is still the record placement from GLA University campus Mathura. Around 70-75% students are placed every year but I will be preparing for GATE as my ambition are to be atleast post graduate if not a PHD.
