Electronic and communication engineering is a good brand and after graduation there are so many government jobs.

First year you have to go through all the subject (mixed from each branch). And after the first year you will get majority of the subjects from your branch. But still you will be having one subject every year from some other branch. You have to clear 5 or 6 subject in each semester. And you will get less time to thoroughly go through the concept of each course.
