Remarks
Graduates in any subject can apply for a master's in political science. Admission is through marks and the interview process. 50 percent of seats are reserved for category students. The department has very good faculty and organizes many talks by international faculty. Internship and research are compulsory.
Course Curriculum Overview
The department has about 20 students per year and 4 to 5 faculty members. All the faculty are PhDs and teach passionately. Classes are regularly held, though the classes are only for four hours. Exams are held regularly.
Internships Opportunities
Rubaroo, Human Rights Commission of Maharashtra, Purple passion, and CORo are some organizations that provide internships. Most internships are related to field research or library or office-related work. The internship is useful.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are reasonably low. It is about 8000 Rs per year. Category students pay half of that amount. There is no placement. Only for internships, the department places students. Internships are good and in reputed NGOs.
Campus Life
There is a big library. Film shows and talks are organized by the department. There are also outings and picnics. Department has a Facebook page. The campus is small and the classrooms could be much better. Space is a constraint.
Hostel Facilities
There is a hostel. The hostel is basic with regular food. It is located on the Church gate campus. All rooms are twin and three sharing. It's all girls hostel and located in a prime area. The rooms and amenities could be better.
