Remarks
The admission process at SP college, Pune was not very complex. It was based on merit ( scores of class 12th). The eligibility to get into any course was to have a background on the subject. You don't get to choose your subject even after getting admission to the college. Choosing a subject for your major happens in the second year of your bachelor's. For different subjects, there are different cut-offs and a limited number of seats. There are reservations for SC/ST, students from Maharastra also have a quota and specially-abled children. The application process was kind of tricky. The filling of the form was a bit complex, as you have to visit a different site and then make an account and fill out the form. The application filling process could be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was a Psychology major. The professors in my department were great. They were helpful and very knowledgeable. 1:5 was the student-teacher ratio. Every senior professor was a Ph.D. in the subject and a few of the assistant professors were Postgraduates. Just like in any other college, there were two written exams and assignments. The difficulty level was medium during the internal exams, and a mixture of both medium and high during the external exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of this college is very minimal for a middle-class student at least. For me, the cost was 6k for a year and 1000 was the exam fees. Financial assistance is there for EWS students and also for specially-abled students who need financial help. There's unfortunately no option for jobs with stipends on campus.
Campus Life
Life on the campus is pleasant. The campus is full of kuch green trees and plants. There's a huge football ground behind the main building where all the co-curricular activities take place. There are options for you to take part in NCC, NSS, divyazep, Niti Kushal, Vadsabha( debating club), and many more. These are the active clubs in the college that are run by students and their work is commendable. The Natya Sabha of the college is very well known in Pune. They have won loads of prizes every year
Interview Experience
No. The process for admission for a bachelor's degree was based on my 12th score. The college uploads a merit list on their website, and there is the name of the students who got selected in sequence with what they scored.
