MGAC, B.Sc, Physics

Remarks

Compulsory studied the main subject has physics in 12th. I found the application form in college. I found application fees and application date information online. No improvement want in the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I like studying physics so I select B.sc physics. They are 6 teachers teaching physics and students 100 or above. The teaching method is good to understand easily and able to ask the doubts and reply to teachers is good. Before the semester they conduct exams its help to get marks in the main semester and is easy to pass.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 6000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship offered to students each year 1000 - 6000 in thiruvallur university. Apart from that students from reserved categories and those from the economically weaker sections of society are also provided with financial assistance.

Campus Life

Lots of books and journals are available in the library. The amenities in classrooms are good for students. They conduct lots of sports like cricket, carrom, kabaddi, football etc, and also the Ncc campus, Nss campus, and Yrc campus.

Nit Trichy B.Sc. B.ed. student review

Likes

girls to boys ratio is 1:1 is we consider all three branches with some courses with more male while other having for female.more or less the ratio is near 1:1
the most important thing for you is there is close to zero discrimination for you , whether you want to join any club or perform anything you are equivalent to students with others bachelor degree
octagon and library are the two things which are good as library is considered the biggest library among all nit's while octagon having 800 computers for students.NSO ground is also well maintained with the beautiful mig fighter jet to take cool phot

Dislikes

for first years hostel are well maintained if compared with others but don't expect much from hostel atlast this is a government college.in first year 3 to 4 person sharing room are there which was build to carry 2 person.
Quant and entrepreneur thing is not there as you might expect by seeing the nirf 9 ranking but it is not zero .they are growing clubs like profNITT and Sigma are young and they could do better
curfew timing for girls are 9 or 9:30 pm i guess be it any year. for boys ,only freshers have curfew with timing 9:30 pm.other than that any student can't step outside the college after 10 pm without the sign out form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

MGAC student opinion and review

Actually this kinda of government college admission will be relatively tedious process involved because the whole process will be undertaken by the Tamilnadu Government (TNSAGA) these applications will be released on Online portal and the date will announced in News/Magazine. The application process will very simplistic and even it take only 10 minutes hardly and have payment of 50(polly) I'm sure about the application fee. There will seat allotment based on the reservation fixed by higher education department. for UG the 12th grade marks will be taken the admission process will segregated by the counselling process with 5 stages. For MBA you need to take TANCET for joining this is college you don't really any superb marks or score just 50% more than enough you can easily cracked into MBA Admission but for UG typically harder because many your 12th score will hit harder because they alloted your seats based on your caste/cut-off. But, don't frightened for this everything will easy much...Read More
