Remarks
The Management is very good and organized. There is a smooth flow.Discipline is a very key aspect here.
Entrance Preview
i had appeared for CAT,NMAT,XAT,SNAP.I had scored 199 in NMAT.After all my interviews i had the option to choose SIOM or NM-Bangalore.I chose NM since i was interested in Analytics and NM offers a wide variety of subjects.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is spread across three trimesters in the first year and second year. All the subjects under all domains are well covered in the 1st year so as to get a clear idea of all subjects.in 2nd year the student can choose from Finance,Analytics,Marketing,Operations,HR,Consulting Skills
Internships Opportunities
Yes.The average stipend during internship is around Rs.20,000.I am currently doing my internship and so far it has been a very good experience.Students get an opportunity to hone their skills across different domains.
Placement Experience
The placements for my senior has batch has been impressive and better over the previous year.Only 6 students remain unplaced out of a batch strength of 160 students.Almost all the students got to choose their areas of interest as their job.The job descriptions were very good. Some of the well known companies were VMWare,Infosys,Accenture,ICICI Bank,Crisil,JP Morgan. You can get a detailed list on the website of NM-Bangalore.
College Events
There are events almost every 3 days on average.ToastMasters International being one of the major attractions conducts sessions every Monday. There are 17 clubs and committees all together. The cultural committee organizes the freshers,Cultural day and farewell for the outgoing batch. Its party time almost all throughout.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Given the current scenario of MBA colleges i feel it's reasonable enough.Compared to many other colleges which fall under the same bracket and don't offer much in the placements. The hostel fee is 1.25 lakhs for the 1st year students.Considering the returns seeing the placements over the years,it's a safe bet.
Fees and Financial Aid
No.As far as my knowledge goes there is no provision for any kind of student loan or other beneficiaries being offered by college.
Campus Life
Campus life is good.I wouldn't say its best since it's very far away from the city and moreover the college and hostel are 4 kms apart. The diversity, gender ratio and number of freshers, work experience people is kept in mind by the administration before the admission procedure. Extr curriculars and events keep happening throughout the year. The onus is on the students as to how well he/she utilizes them.
Hostel Facilities
Since i am a day scholar i will not be able to comment exactly on this point. But from the feedback i receive from my friends the food is too good. There is a mix of South and North Indian dishes which is provided. There is wifi,2 students per room,TV and geyser.Since the hostel is in the outskirts the area is a bit eerie
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni are invited to college for all the important events in college and there is Alumni Day where-in students get to interact with alumni and get insights about different aspects.
Exam Structure
There is a Mid term and End term exam for each trimester. The second trimester is very hectic since there are 9 subjects, many technical and cultural activities in college. It becomes difficult for the students to cope up and finish courses on time.1st trimester is pretty decent but the 3rd trimester is chilled out.
Admission
After filling the online application form the exam window will be open for 2 months. The details for exam can be found on the NMIMS website. After clearing the 1st round i was called for Case discussion and PI.Final merit list will be announced in March.Fee has to be paid in Mumbai campus for all colleges.
Faculty
All the faculty members are very well qualified, most of them having a Phd. Some of them have more than 10 years of experience in teaching and a few with more than 25 years of industry experience. They give relevant examples from their experiences in classes which makes it very interesting.
