SPPU : The affordable and Affluent future.

Eligibility of the course was graduation completion from any recognized university in mathematics or statistics stream. The application process was online on the website of the university. The entrance exam was also conducted online. The application fee was around seven hundred rupees. The reservation is available for different categories according to government rules and regulations. The overall admission process is a little slower and spread over months so it will be easier and more useful if it is made faster and short.

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue higher studies in the domain of my graduation. And this university offers an up-to-date curriculum with placement opportunities in good companies. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:13.All the faculty is highly qualified and have done the research and other higher studies in their domain. All the teachers prefer the offline methods but use modern ways like digital learning. The exam schedule is strictly followed and papers are set quite difficult as compared to other universities.

Most of the internships are unpaid but they provide a quality experience. The faculties recommend the students for internships. The maximum stipend is around 10k per month. Most of the work is to work on short-term projects and help with suitable skills.

The students become eligible for placements during the last semester of their course. The companies visited are Novartis, SAS, Bajaj Finserv, SBI life insurance, etc. The highest package offered was 17 lakhs per annum. The average package is around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Almost 80% of students of our batch got placed. I plan to work in the private sector after getting my degree.

Being a public university the fees are not that much higher and as compared to placement opportunities that will be worth it. The cost is not much beyond admission costs and basic expenses. They also help through scholarships like Gunwant Vidharthi, INSpire, etc. The assistance is provided to economically weaker students. The on-campus jobs are available like office work and earn and learn scheme.

There are many cultural and academic functions held annually. The SPANDAN is a cultural fest arranged in December of every year. The library has one of the oldest collections of books ranging from literature to academics. The university has a dedicated playground for cricket, football, and basketball, and sports events are conducted regularly. The classrooms are well equipped with benches, fans, digital boards, and projectors. There are various clubs like SAATHI and alumni groups.

The registration process for a hostel is done along with the admission process itself. You have to submit your interest in the application. After admission, the hostel will be allowed as per the merit list. The meal quality is decent and the menu is mostly Maharashtrian. There around many accommodation facilities available outside the campus.
