Remarks
I joined the college through Anna University counselling. So there was no exam required. Based on the cutoff we get the course. If you want to join through the management quota, the fee is pretty much higher. You have to visit the college website and apply for the entrance exam. After which they will call you for an interview. If u perform well you will get a seat in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics and communication engineering. All the faculty members are PhD holders. some are assistant professors too. Some faculties are extraordinary and we were not very appreciative. In the end, it's you who has to study. For each semester you have 3 internal examinations called CAT. If u miss any one of the exams they conduct a separate Supplementary Assessment exam. The CATs were pretty ok depending upon the subjects. Overall I chose this course because I found this interesting. Also, this is a bit tough. So think wisely and choose.
Placement Experience
Our placements are pretty good. Companies like Amazon, Google, Accenture, hcl, Zoho etc visit every year. The highest package this year was 1.2 crores in the CSE department. Almost 99% of students get placed every year depending upon the department. My plan is to prepare for the gate exam while working.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you come through counselling the fee is 1.3 lakhs. If you come through the management quota you have to pay an extra one lakh or so. There are several scholarships offered here every semester like sports quota, rural quota, scholarship for toppers etc. The campus placements are pretty much good for our department. So go for it.
Campus Life
The social life at SSN depends upon the group of friends you choose. In the end, you should make your college life memorable. The campus here is so beautiful with enormous greens all around. The ad you know SSN is famous for film shootings. The annual fest here is called INSTINCTS and the tech fest is called INVENTION. There are several clubs, sports competitions and a huge library with many books.
