Remarks
Admission is totally merit based. There is no entrance exam involved. There are total three rounds of selection. You need to apply through Gujarat University website. Generally applications are open for 1 month. Student need to register and then apply. There is an application fee Rs 150-350/- depending on the category. Application process starts after board results. Student can select any 3 colleges and put it in priority order. Based on merit, Candidates will be called for document verification and finalize admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for BSc BIOTECHNOLOGY because of my interest. The field of Biotechnology was blooming. Faculty are good in number. One faculty for each subject. Wide ranges of subject are included in curriculum. BSc is in three subjects - BIOTECHNOLOGY, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE and HEALTH-HYGIENE. Teachers are generally freshers but they stay atleast for a year. Few teachers also have a doctoral degree and are expertise in their field. Timely assignments and seminars are conducted. 30% is internal marks. Semester internal as well as external exams are conducted. Exams are moderate. It covers esay to difficult questions. If well prepared, you can pass easily.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee is 11-13k per semster. There is difference in fees for boys and girls. Mostly it is difference of of two-three thousand rupees. Generally there hike in fees 5% per year. Its a Self financed college. Fee is affordable. There is no scholarship provided by institute as such. However there are few scholarships for resserved categories. Students have apply independtly to avail such scholarships. No stipend is provided to any students.
Campus Life
Life at campus is good but not best. There are many academic events organised. Various seminars are also conducted. Yearly navratri and goga pancham festival is celebrated. Library is good. Wide range of books are available. Also student can get previous year question papers from library. Classrooms are big in size and quality of benches is too good. Freshers and farewell parties are organized everywhere.
