Remarks

Everyone has a different perception about their college experience. For me, it made me who I'm and I cannot be more proud. Management wasn't so active during out academic period, we used to get the examination or any deadlines notification very late, so it was very difficult for us to manage everything, but apart from that the college and the teachers are very good.

Entrance Preview

After giving my class 12th board exams, I started taking coaching classes from Career Launcher for BBA entrance exams. My initial choice was to do Bcom but I was taking these coaching classes as a backup. By the time results were out, I had made up my mind to opt for BBA. I just gave 2 entrances, CET BBA for IPU (Rank: 2306) and Bharti Vidyapeeth (Rank: 392). After clearing both the exams, opted for IPU, being it the best option available.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course was well-structured and distributed in the 3 years. It felt that a lot of research and planning was done before deciding the curriculum for each semester. All the electives, practicals, projects were evenly divided except the few assignments that they used to introduce every couple of months which would make it very difficult for us to manage everything.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college did provide internship. Stipend varied from student to student, since it was a sales internship. Overall experience was very good. Learnt a lot about products and services offered by the company and their operations and way of interacting with customers, getting their feedback about the product, so that the company can work on improving their offerings.

Placement Experience

3

Placements happened in the final year and it was horribly organised. Out of 180 students, only 10 students were placed. The company's interview process was very bad as well as the salaries offered weren’t based on knowledge or experience, it was purely based on the academics. Didn't understand why they were conducting interviews. They came to hire for two different profiles that day, for girls, the job opportunity offered upto Rs.240000/- whereas boys were offered upto Rs.180000/-. Although, got it touch with latest pass out students a couple of months ago during a meet and got to know that the placement team in the college has been replaced by the new members and they are actually getting some value and exposure out of those interviews.

College Events

4.5

Every year, our college used to organise technical as well as cultural events, fests and sports-meet that would give a platform and an equal opportunity to each kind of student to demonstrate their interests. Best part was that they didn't have a uniform body that would manage those events all the time, rather they used to appoint new members/students that would manage everything like finance, operations, presentations, hand-outs, announcements etc. This kind of thing gave everyone an equal opportunity to get a real-life experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure was very expensive considering the facilities that were provided to us in comparison with the Private colleges that were charging the same amount approximately. The fees structure was very horrible considering the infrastructure, classrooms and library books available. The fees paid by us was Rs.65000/- per year excluding the cost of books and stationary. There were no WiFi installed for everyone, which was actually mentioned to us during the admission/orientation period. Similar, was the case for Air conditioners, they were only installed in the Academic offices/management rooms.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship or any loan facility was offered by your college. There was a low fee structure available for SC/ST/OBC students. Also, they gave an option to make the fees payment in EMIs or Pay-per-semester basis (but you need some sort of approach and get yourself verified with all sorts of documents).

Campus Life

4

Campus life experience is very different from everyone's perspective. Some see diversity as boon, some see it as a bane. For me, gender ratio, diversity, events, competitions, everything was very good. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, I would rate my campus life as 9. There's one thing that I was missing being it a management institute was it lacked entrepreneurial spirit. Would have given it 10 if the teachers/professors and college was supportive at that point of time. Although now, they have become quite supportive but traditional methods are still preferred over the modern methods.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

We didn't have any hostel facilities or mess food. We just had a canteen in our college. Food in our canteen was pretty good and hygienic. Also, it didn't made a big hole in our pocket, it was very economical. During our first and second year, the average expenditure per person used to be Rs.40/- which was good for a one-time meal, but during the third year, they introduced some more options that increased our cost to Rs.70/- which was quite high.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni weren't that active during my academic batch, but now I being an alumni, I make sure to be as helpful and supportive to anyone who gets in touch. After all, knowledge increases when you brainstorm it with others. Senior students were quite helpful in making our college life very easy during the early days.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was very bad, they didn't put a thought before deciding the number of holidays needed before each examination. Let's take an example here. We were given 12 holidays for preparation of the subject - Personality development and communication skills (PDCS), but we were given only 2 holidays for Mathematics examination. And being the PDCS examination the last one to happen, we weren't able to use those extra holidays for preparation of other exams. Also, you get in a flow once you start giving exams, but to wait 12 days to give a last exam and that too, a very easy subject, it was very tiring.

Admission

Getting admission notifications was easy since the teachers at my coaching class were providing us all the updates regularly. So, I didn't had to keep a track for those. I procured the form by visiting the academic office of the university and submitted the form on-the-spot after filling it. Once I cleared my examinations, administration of the university was quite helpful in providing us the direct information about the college, fees structure, course curriculum, infrastructure, faculty and other facilities.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of our college was pretty good except few teachers. It always felt that they were their to help us, mentor us, point us towards the right direction. They were totally focused on solving our doubts. Best part was that few of them were good listeners.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placement in my college for my course BBA pretty good. The college is also Offers internship opportunities. We can expect an average package of around 3 to 4 lakhs per annum for BBA.
