Get to know KIET in brief

You should have passed your 12th with science (for those who are going for Btech course). During my admission process in 2019, our rank in JEE Mains or UPTU examination were considered. Although, I took admission on the basis of my 12th percentage and after that an entrance exam was conducted by the college. All details are available on the website of college. Also, one can call the toll free number and ask for the details they want. For me admission process was really smooth, I was done with the process in just one day.

I did not want to go for computer science and IT branches, therefore my first choice was Electrical and Electronics only. The faculty of my department is really good. They are always open to help. Students are divided among several groups and a faculty is appointed as a mentor for them, where students can discuss any kind of problem they want. Teachers are well qualified and have amazing teaching methodologies. Although one thing that one may find stressful is the number of internal exams. Every month there is an exam and sometimes one might feel like they are giving more number of exams than they are taking lectures. But that applies to all colleges. The term exams can be easily passed if one has perfectly gone through all the notes provided by the teachers.

Students get three chances from the college to complete internships. Apart from that, they can apply for other internships also. Internships can be both paid and unpaid, it varies from company to company. Hundreds of opportunities are provided by the college in every domain. Also, from third year, the students are expected to start working on a project and complete it till last year. As project plays a major role in college placements.

The students are eligible to apply for placements once they are in 6th semester. Although one can start doing internship as soon as they are in 2nd year. There are a lot of internship and placement opportunities for students. Software and core companies visit the campus. Software companies like amazon, tcs, wipro, infosys, accenture, rapipay, juspay, CapgeminiCapgemini, byju's, cognizant, hcl, hp, flipkart and many nire visit the campus. Core companies for mechanical, electrical and civil are- mahindra, hero, Larsen & Tubro, reliance, hul, honda, lohia corp, adani, jsw etc visit to the campus. The highest package went was of 44 lpa from amazon and 14 students were placed. From last two years 100 % placement has been seen from the department of Electrical and Electronics.

The fees is 1,49,000 for the first year and for the following years it is 1,19,000. The transportation fee depends upon your residential area. There has not been a fees hike since I have been here. Students can also avail certain scholarships.

There are basically two annual fests held at college- Epoque and Prastuti. The month can't be predicted, but both are held together. Along with this, sports fest and many other fests like innotech, tedx etc are also organized. There are various cultural clubs in the college- dance clubs, music clubs, sports clubs, photography clubs, fashion clubs, literary clubs, and many more. The best part is that the presidents of these clubs are the students of college, which makes it easier to communicate with them. When it comes to library, there are thousands of books and journals available offline as well as online.
