Remarks
Admission is based on jee mains rank or 12th marks. One can apply for admission through reap. Generally, reap form starts in June/ July. The seat is allocated on the basis of merit and choice filling priority. anyone with more than 85 percentile (general) can aim for a seat in mining.
Course Curriculum Overview
Exams are taken on time. There are midterms of 20 marks and semester exams of 80 marks. Questions are easy to moderate. Anyone by Solving just previous year papers can easily pass the exams. teachers are well qualified and the mining department is the best in terms of student-faculty relationships.
Internships Opportunities
There is one month of underground coal mining training in the 2nd year and one month of underground metal mining training in the 3rd year. Training is provided by the College in collab with different mining companies such as Vedanta.
Placement Experience
Placements in mining engineering are quite good. This year (2022) 13 students are placed in Vedanta with 11.5 lakh per annum which is quite good. Others are placed in wonder cement. 13 out of 25 are placed with 11.5 lakh per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee increases by 5% annually. There are government-aided seats (50%) in mining allocated on the basis of merit. The tuition fees for these seats are 15000 per semester only. There are scholarships like sumedha, yashad sumedha and TFWS.
Campus Life
Techfest is conducted every year in February. There are books available in the library to prepare for gate, cat and other examinations but novels are not there. classrooms are provided with smartboards. There are plenty of games such as cricket, badminton, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, football etc.
Hostel Facilities
There are separate hostels for seniors and juniors. One room is allocated to 2 persons with a bed, study table, chair and almirah. Meal quality is average. Rooms are allocated on the basis of merit but there is no issue. One can easily get to the hostel.
