Remarks
After completing my graduate degree in 'Architecture' I wanted to do further study, and to me, IIT Roorkie seemed the best option as I got diversified options of courses. As per eligibility criteria, I was a valid applicant as I did 4 years bachelors degree with a first-class and also I had a valid GATE score. I made registration and applied through an online application with an online fee of Rs. 500. The selection process was conducted through two stages; aptitude test and personal interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
In this two years PG program we had four semesters. Every year we used to have two semesters, the spring and autumn semesters. We read all the foundation courses and also the elective courses. I took elective courses from the design group. I read the subjects as user experience design, interaction design, mobility design, research into design, etc. In the second year, we did the internship cum industrial training project.
Placement Experience
The recruiters who participated in the final campus recruitment were Amazon India Pvt ltd, ACME Telepower Ltd, Anand Automotive Ltd, Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd, Airbus Engineering Centre India, AIR Worldwide India Pvt. Ltd, Bharat Dynamics Ltd., etc. The highest salary package offered was Rs.60 LPA and average salaries of Rs.10 LPA were offered in our final placement program. In the summer placement, I got the average stipend of Rs. 78000.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our Tuition fees I paid were Rs.5000 and along with this our semester charges were Rs. 4250. Several schemes of scholarship were also available such as merit cum means based scholarship, James Thomason scholarship, etc. There were some fee waiver schemes was available for us, one of my friends got this benefit.
Campus Life
The Jawahar club was our PG club, we all friends spent some memorable moments there. We used to play table tennis and pool table there. We also had a multi-activity center, night cafe, Amul parlor on our campus. There was the facility of the guest house was also available on our campus. I was a member of the music section society.
