IIT Madras review

Admission was done on the basis of JEE Advanced. Eligibility is you had taken PCM in +2 and cleared jee advance exam. Application form can be found on jee advance website, and all other important dates too. Reservation system followed is same as proposed by government with one more category as girls reservation.

I got this course on the basis of my jee rank, also I wanted broader branch and good institution so took this faculty are good, they are helping in nature with some exceptions but most of them are helping in nature. All faculty are highly qualified, maximum have a Ph.D. degree from IIT Madras or from a foreign institution. Teaching method totally varies from professor to professor some are really good some average. Exams were done regular basis, the pattern of the exam is decided by the professor and students after discussion, like in some weekly quizzes, some have mid sem and end sem.

The internship is provided in the last of the 3rd year many big companies come to give internships like JP Morgan, Microsoft and all, the stipend provided is also good enough and varies from company to company. for preparation of internship a blue book is also given by placement cell to each student.

In the final year, students can apply for placements. Many big companies come like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, have given offers. The highest packages are international offers which go in crores, average CTC is 37lpa which is in the profile of software development, followed by Data science profile with average CTC of 20lpa. My plan after getting a degree is for another exam. and not sitting for placements.

The fee structure is approx 100000rs per semester(tuition fee) and 30000 per semester (hostel fee). many scholarships are provided, like merit cum scholarships (this one provided by institution) and private scholarships are also provided by many NGOs, companies like Samsung.

Campus life is good, we have techfest SHAASTRA and cultural fest SAARANG, many big celebrities come it is fun IIT M has a central library with many books related to the engineering field and a few other topics also sports facility is also good enough we have 1 cricket ground, a swimming pool, a stadium, a badminton court,basketball court,tennis court and many more. There are many clubs students can join any club as per their interest like CFI(tech club), finance club, many more. also, the fest shaastra and saarang are run by students only.

We have one bed, fan, light, LAN port for free internet, chair and table with a cupboard for keeping our things. mess food is decent enough, the menu is different for different days. Have north mess, south mess, and Jain mess. Registration for mess is done on college.
