Remarks

Anyone who has passed 12 is eligible for this course. To flourish in this course, you should have good control over the English language. Although you can learn English later, knowing the basics is a must for this course. The application form is available online on the university's official website. The only improvement I wish to see in the admission process is that the college should tell more about placements and internships during the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course mainly because I was passionate about writing. This course gives good exposure to different career opportunities, not only in television but also in radio. Fluency in English is one of the many benefits of this course. The faculty to students ratio is well maintained as per the official guidelines (1:35). All the papers have specialized teachers. The faculty members are friendly and well be informed about the subject. They encourage all the students to develop skills. The assignments given by them are quite interesting. To sum it up, you get one of the best faculties available for this course. The semester-end exams are held every 4 months and there are assignments and internal assessments between that. The exams are quite easy to pass, just a thorough knowledge of the subject is required. You would mostly be asked questions to test your understanding of the subject.

Internships Opportunities

4

I haven't attended any internship program but the college provided summer internships in the first year. You get to work with Indian Express, Zee News, and other PR agencies. You also get a 3 months internship in your third year, for which you would be graded.

Fees and Financial Aid

Without the scholarship, it would cost you around 4lakhs for a 3-year course. The scholarships are given based on your class 10th and 12th marks. So if you have scored 91%+ in both 10th and 12th, you can get a fee cut of around 1.5 lakhs. The fees are quite affordable when combined with the scholarship that most of the students can avail and there is no hike in fees. You can apply for an educational loan to pay your fees. The University provides you with internships.

Campus Life

4

There is only one fest celebrated in the college which is the annual fest held in the month of March. The Library is quite large with abundant books available for the course. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards for better teaching and understanding. The University organizes the inter University sports fest every year. The extracurricular activities include debate, gd, poster making, and much more. There are many clubs in the college like Rotaract club, literary club, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are double or triple occupancy AC rooms available for the students for a price of around 70k and 74k per semester (6months) respectively. The rooms are spacious and we'll keep them. The food is good as compared to the other hotels in the vicinity except for the cafeteria. You can register for the hostel with the hostel in charge, but the price is quite high.

Interview Experience

3.5

There was only a telephonic interview (because of lockdown) in which the interviewer asked me about my hobbies and interests. The admission process is quite easy, there are assistants who assist you through the entire process.

The placements in Birla School of communication are good. Most of my seniors are placed in prominent corporate houses or media channels. We have an active WhatsApp group where alumni keep in contact and share their knowledge and suggestions. Many companies including Genesis, zee entertainment, Ad factors, Tata, Kechum Sampark, inshorts, etc visit the campus for recruitment. Most of my seniors are happily placed in big companies and they are quite content.

Placement Experience:

For getting placements, I need to atleast reach the end of the 3rd year of my college. I've just started my 2nd year now. However, my seniors, have perfectly gotten good placements at really fine places. To date, I've done atleast 3 internships in my 1st year of colllege, all provided by BGU. A good number of students are really brilliant and talented and hence the percentage of students getting well-placed crosses a really fine line.
