Remarks

I applied for Xavier University Bhubaneswar but I didn't attend because Birla Global University seemed to be a more suitable option for me. The admission criteria for Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication is minimum 55% in 10+2. Some students are even called up for Personal Interview. The admission process went smoothly without any hurdles.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have always wanted to grow in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication and that's how I opted for this course. Birla Global University is one of the best colleges for this field. The course curriculum is very much relevant and updated that prepares us for the future endeavours. The faculty is well qualified and even though we had online classes they quickly bonded with us. Their teaching method is practical and they provide us with valuable examples from their experience. Throughout the year we have 2 semester examinations and internals.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are mostly offered from beginning itself. When we joined, we were offered various internship opportunities in content writing, production, film making, public relations in the first year itself. Most of the internships are unpaid.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement is provided to students who have completed their master's degree. Our seniors were given the opportunity to work in their dream jobs at companies like ADFactors PR, Zee Entertainment, Genesis BCW, ETV Bharat, Inshorts, Pahara, Ketchum Sampark PR and more.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very much transparent and due to Covid-19 we were also provided with Covid discount. The scholarship program is as follows: 20% waiver on course fee if minimum 60% is scored in 10+2 examinations. 25% waiver on course fee if minimum 70% is scored in 10+2 examinations. 30% waiver on course fee if minimum 80% is scored in 10+2 examinations. 40% waiver on course fee if minimum 90% is scored in 10+2 examinations.

Campus Life

3.5

I joined the campus amidst covid and that's why I haven't experienced the campus life yet. However, our seniors and faculty were very welcoming and we were provided with Radio club, Sports club and Literary club to join in.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards. Companies like Adfactors, PR Hub, Value 360, etc, typically visit offering various roles. The highest package could be around 8lakhs depending on the company and role. Approximately 70 to 80% of students secure placements. And plan after getting the degree is to continue my post-graduation, I aspire to pursue further studies and join a reputed firm to gain experience.

Placement Experience:

The placements in Birla School of communication are good. Most of my seniors are placed in prominent corporate houses or media channels. We have an active WhatsApp group where alumni keep in contact and share their knowledge and suggestions. Many companies including Genesis, zee entertainment, Ad factors, Tata, Kechum Sampark, inshorts, etc visit the campus for recruitment. Most of my seniors are happily placed in big companies and they are quite content.

Placement Experience:

For getting placements, I need to atleast reach the end of the 3rd year of my college. I've just started my 2nd year now. However, my seniors, have perfectly gotten good placements at really fine places. To date, I've done atleast 3 internships in my 1st year of colllege, all provided by BGU. A good number of students are really brilliant and talented and hence the percentage of students getting well-placed crosses a really fine line.
