IIT Jodhpur Review

IIT Jodhpur is ranked #53 by NIRF. There were two main reasons I chose IIT Jodhpur first I am from a technological background and the college offers MBA in Technology Management as very few colleges offers such courses in India and second, the college ranking also played a significant role in my selection criteria. To be part of the college candidate has to clear the CAT exam and must secure a minimum of 60% marks in the bachelor program and 55% for the reserved category. The admission for the MBA program is conducted in two phases, At first, the candidate is selected on the basis of CAT score and the final selection is done on the basis of Composit Merit List (CML). The candidate has to fill the admission form from the official website of the college and pay an amount of Rs. 1000/- online.

The curriculum is of international and industrial standards and norms. I found that the curriculum for the MBA program of the college is very interesting in the first year we learn about the basic concepts and fundamentals of management, finance, marketing, operations, and entrepreneurship and the importance of management skills in the corporate world. In the second year, we learn about the changing management technology, the importance of technology in management and its impact on the growth of the industry and the importance of tech leadership.

The internship is the part of the curriculum the college placement committee is the one that guides us for internship programs. As the placement committee is responsible for the internship. The committee makes sure that every participating students receive an internship. As the internship is a very good opportunity for us to learn new things and to implement our learning into the corporate world and helps us to understand where we lack. The stipend for the internship program ranges from Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 1,75,000/- depending on the tenure of the internship.

The college provides you with a good return on your investment. The college placement committee is hardworking and is aware of the number of students participating in the placement drives and plan and schedule accordingly. The placement record of the college for our batch was 100%. The highest package for our batch was around 35 LPA and the average package was around 18 LPA. I also receive a good amount of packages around 20 LPA from Microsoft. Companies like 1MG, MAQ Software, Crisil, Honda, Zycus, DRDO, Bank of Baroda, Coal India Ltd, Microsoft, Google etc participated in the placement drive of the campus.

Frankly speaking, I was not eligible for the scholarship program so I have to pay my complete fee. The college also provides scholarships for merit students under its Merit Cum Means Scholarship program. Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC is also available. The campus life of the college is good. Events and Fests like IGNUS, Nimble, Virasaat are the main attraction point for students. The campus also provides free WiFi facilities around the campus. The college also organises extracurricular activities like sports, photography competitions, music, science and technology. The library is equipped with world-class books and international journals. The classrooms are big and spacious to accommodate around 80-100 students. The events and activities in the college are organised by the students club.

The rooms of the hostel are big and used by one student at a time. The rooms are equipped with a bed, study table and an almirah. The rooms are also equipped with AC. The rooms are regularly cleaned and student hygiene is very well maintained. The laundry service is also available in the hostel. The mess food is good and very hygienic. The menu of the mess is very vast and keeps on changing. The common room is equipped with LCD TV, table tennis, and carrom for students. Hostel management is very polite, helpful and professional.

The faculty of the college is very good. They are masters in their subject and are also aware of the student weak and strong points. The faculty also motivates us to take part in extracurricular activities as much as we can as they believe that the overall personality of students is very important.
