MBA at IIT Jodhpur

It is ranked 53rd by NIRF 2020, and this also played a significant role in selecting this institute. Basically, it offers an MBA technology degree and is the best course for tech students like me. To apply, I filled out an online application form using my valid CAT score and paid Rs. 1000 as the application fee. In the primary selecting process they took the composite score of the CAT exam, gender diversity, and work experience. In the final selection process based on our composite score, we had to appear for the personal interview round. The interview round was conducted through the virtual mode. Our final ranking was determined by a combination of the composite score and the personal interview score.

It is basically a two years flagship program and this MBA degree is. First, the curriculum focussed on the fundamental studies in the discipline of finance, marketing, strategy, operations, entrepreneurship, and human resource management. In the final year, we concentrated on our elective courses. In the second year, I chose an MBA technology degree. Under this elective area, I read subjects related to tech-intensive areas focussed on tech application for business, tech leadership, and analytics and data. I got the opportunity to learn from our excellent core faculty members along with the brilliant guest or visiting faculty. Currently, I’m in my final year and got to develop skills in the area of interpersonal communication, negotiation, organizational development, leadership, etc. I also learned while working on the corporate live project provided by the Corporate Relation Centre (CRC).

As we are the first batch that is why I haven’t received help from seniors. I think the pre-placement talk will take place in the mid of October to December. The on-campus process of the final placement program will take place in the mid of November to February. Though I don’t know about the leading recruiters in the final placement program, I can assume it from our summer placement program. The prominent names that offered us the internship opportunity were Adani Solar, TCS, IBM, HP, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, etc. I got a stipend of 43k per month.

The program fee for each semester is Rs. 2,00,000. Additionally, I paid hostel fees and the dining fee along with the semester fee. We are also provided the merit-based academic scholarship. For the incoming batch, there will be cash awards available for a maximum of ten students.

There are the facilities of hostels, dining, sports, health center and transport available at our campus. I use to play badminton at our badminton ground during my recreational time. I’m also a member of our Design and Art society. IGNUS, Nimble, Virasaat are some of the major events of our campus, Though as an active member of our Design and Art society I feel another level of excitement in the event called ‘Framed’.
