Remarks
The eligibility of the course is Bpharm or biotech graduates. The application form is available on the official NM website. The application fees come on official NM website. I took the NMAT exam and scored 215 scores, the cut-off was 180 for the 2021-23 batch. Also, the individual cut-off was 76. After the exam, for the shortlisted students, there was a WAT test and PI as well. A total of 1200 students were given the final shortlist out of which approximately 580 students joined NMIMS, Mumbai for MBA. The application form and other details could be found on the official website of NMIMS. Also, I didn't avail any reservation benefits. The process is decent overall and doesn't require any improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose MBA in Pharmaceutical Management. The faculty-student ratio is close to 1:20 if we consider the entire 1st and 2nd-year batch. Faculties mostly hold doctorate degrees in their specific domains. Few of them are industry experts as well. Also, we have 6 trimesters in 2 years, exams are held for all the 6 trimesters. The difficulty level for exams is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Many big pharma companies like GSK, Zeus, Novartis visit the campus. Projects are related to marketing, consulting, operations and sales. The summer internship is for 2 months in April. These companies offer PPO too.
Placement Experience
There are a lot of internship opportunities available. Proper placements are held. The maximum stipend goes to 70,000 per month and the average is close to 50 thousand per month. Companies offer roles like market research, sales, brand marketing, etc. Same companies like the final ones visit the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for me i.e. for batch 2021-23 is 6 lakhs per year. The fee is more than normal colleges indeed but could be compensated with good packages from companies. The fee is hiked almost every year at NMIMS, but you can get loans easily by the name of NMIMS only. There are some scholarship opportunities available for students with an annual family income of 8 lakhs but come with a lot of conditions as well.
Campus Life
I haven't been to campus yet because of online classes. But, as seen in the photographs and as the seniors tell, the campus is not less than a 5-star hotel. Euphoria is one of the biggest cultural fests which is organized in March. Also, various fests and events are organized for freshers as well. Books were sent across courier only to us and library access is given online. Sports and extra activities are there, but again due to the online scenario, I am not able to go through it much. Also, there are close to 15 clubs and committees related to marketing, finance, operations, students, placements, singing, dance, etc.
Interview Experience
There was a written test i.e. WAT after the NMAT exam shortlisting. I went through a PI as well. PI questions were mostly related to my behavior and hygiene questions only. Most of my questions revolved around my work-ex (I worked as a Project engineer at Wipro Ltd for 31 months). Preparation for these rounds is just to stay confident, be truthful, and be aware of what's happening around as I was also asked about the 3 farm laws.
