Know about B.Sc. Biotechnology hons. in BJB Autonomous College

The admission procees was done by evaluating marks scored in 12th board exams. The 1st round cutoff was 88%. The application forms were filled in DHE-ODISHA site by paying Rs. 350. Reservations were given on the basis of SC/ST/OBC/NCC/Scouts & Guides/Sports Quota.

I chose this course as I had a keen interest in studying biology and that too biotechnology, which is a field of Biology. Faculty:Student ratio is quite good, we are 45 students in our batch, and we have different teachers for different subjects. We have 1 Associate proffesor who is quite experienced, done his pHD and has been teaching since 30 years, we also have 3 Assistant proffesors who also hold a pHD degree but are quite young, but also they have their different teaching methods which we all like. Term exams are conducted every 3 months, and the previous 4 semesters have been totally online due to COVID-19.

Internships aren't quite good in B.Sc. Biotechnology hons. as it is still developing in India. Students from other B.Sc. hons. do get quite good internships and they are quite paid well according to their abilities.

After getting the degree of B.Sc. Biotechnology hons. most of the students go for further studies, like to do M.Sc. and sme others prepare for civil services, some apply for govt. or banking jobs. Some get placement in pharmaceutical companies.

The fees structure is quite low, but still more than who are studying plane B.Sc. as B.Sc. Biotechnology hons. is a self financing course. The annual fee is 15,000 per annum. Some extra expensesare also included such as exam fees, fest fees, poor people fees,etc. which are quite minimal.

Annual fests are conducted every year during october-november. Almost all books are available in the library of BJB college, which is one of the biggest library in the city of Bhubaneswar. Annual sports meet also takes place every year which includes almost every games and sports. There are also various social groups and clubs, like, photography club, literary club, environment club, etc etc.
