My ongoing journey of MBA at SU

Sharda University is a recent addition to the education sector in India and is accredited B by NAAC. To get admission into its management program I gave the MAT exam but you can get admission through CAT and SUAT as well. The management program at the university is top class and you can apply through both offline and online modes.

Just like any other management institute the course is diverse and comprises of many subjects which are very effective for students like us. During the two year program we have six semesters and along with theory, there are industry visits, practical work, and various case studies which we deal with. The professors are highly qualified and they leave no stones unturned so that we get the best learning experience. The academic schedule is hectic which keeps you ready for the exams throughout.

Internship is one of the important parts of the MBA curriculum and there are ample opportunities for the students. Companies like Flipkart, TATA, Birla, Berger, IBM and others offer various roles for internships. The internship runs for 8 weeks on average and a handsome stipend is provided for the job roles. The internship experience would stay with you lifelong and help you improve your career.

We are not eligible for placements until now. But our seniors had 100% placements. The grooming classes shape you for your designated role. Companies like Wipro, Sleepwell, Halonix, Amazon, Videocon, Mahindra, and others are our top recruiters. The highest package last year for MBA students was 24 LPA while the average package stood to be 11 LPA. Students got recruited in the IT and Consulting domain followed by Marketing.

The fees are such that students from every family background can study at this institute. The annual fee for the MBA program is 2.68 Lakh rupees which sums up to 5.40 Lakh rupees in two years. There are merit-based scholarships available for the students which is valid on your CAT/MAT scores. There are other scholarships available for the EWS students.

We don’t have a very good idea about the campus as the pandemic has restricted us from going to the campus. I have visited the campus and during those visits, I got a clear idea. It’s improving regularly and every facility on the campus is modern and innovative. In our online classes, there are various activities that are done to keep us engaged throughout the day. We have the facility of E – Library and the study materials were sent home through the post which has helped us a lot for our learning.

Once you clear the cut-offs with your score there is a GD and PI round which was taken online due to the pandemic. We were provided with all the necessary details before the rounds. The GD was of 15 minutes and a recent topic was chosen for discussion. The PI was taken to analyze you overall as a student. Though these rounds are not so tough it’s better to get an experience beforehand to boost your confidence.
